(apologies for the direct post of this Announce but
my ISP appears to be having kittens again :( )

Europe's largest rare, antiquarian and out of print book
fair is staged in York over the weekend of September 15

http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/spelman/yorkfair.htm

I hereby propose A Daymeet (York 2.0 if I'm not mistaken)
to visit the fair (admission 2 ukp) and do other touristy-type
things in York after (as well as eat and drink ;-) ). [1]

Initially convening at 11:00-11:15 on York station concourse

If anybody travelling from a distance and from a southerly
direction requires crash space before
and/or after and are willing to travel by train on the day to York
with me from Sheffield, do get in touch.

If there is sufficient interest, I'd be happy to arrange afp-meet type
activities in the evening when we get back from York
(there are a number of hostelries, take-away outlets and a video hire shop
within a few minutes walk of Chez Hippo and of course there will
be plenty of the usual meet supplies available (cf. ccde <g>) )

Please e-mail me if you are interested in meeting in York and/or in
Sheffield.

Here endeth the Announce

Why, so there are! Sheffield isn't one of them though...

Yes, I will be attending - not sure whether I will be able to provide
floor space yet, have still to try and convince wonderful housemate.
However the bad news is that *if* I am able to provide floorspace it
will have to be quickly vacated on Sunday morning as parents will be
coming to visit.

Unfortunately, I'm travelling up to York on that very day, and therefore
busy moving lots of stuff into new house, so I won't be able to make
it... :-{
Of course, if I finish moving stuff at a reasonable hour, I'll try to
get along in time to say hello! :-}
And if anyone wants to pop in for a cuppa in the afternoon, they would
be very welcome (unless I make it out, in which case they will be
disappointed). It is a mile or so out of the city centre though.

MP (go on, go find me some books and bring them over in exchange for a
cup of tea... :-} )

Bad news - housemate, probably housemate's boyfriend and possible
housemate's boyfriend's parents may well be staying that night, so can't
really offer any space. Sorry 'bout that. See y'all there!
