I read Chris Wolf's account of his dinner with Andy Bernstein.
Scintillating stuff.

Now, it's not that I doubt Wolf's powers of discrimination --heck, his
critiques of Piekoff and Objectivism, and his powerful odes to giants like
Barbara Branden show him to be a first-rate thinker -- but I believe that,
just as a technicality, we should now hear some corroborating evidence.
Judging from Wolf's account, there were "30+" people at his meeting (and,
in an alternate version within the same account "close to 30"), so,
including the primary characters, there must have been approximately 35
people involved in this little drama.

Since the overwhelming body of evidence so far vouches for Bernstein, with
Chris Wolf being the sole dissenter, I shouldn't think it would be too much
trouble to ask Chris to have one of his witnesses post a message here. Of
course, a really good witness might not share Wolf's true-believer status
on his pet topics, such as Leonard Piekoff as the Great Satan, etc., but
perhaps we could start with some quantity, before we start insisting on
quality; that shouldn't be too difficult, right Chris?

...And, barring some independant posts from such, perhaps Chris could --oh,
now how should I say this without coming across as a "jerk"-- perhaps Chris
could stop wasting precious electrons?

It was our highest turnout ever. My living room was packed. It was
literally wall-to-wall people.

This incident took place eight years ago. The people who were in my living
room, that night, have long since scattered to the wind. And since I have
since changed my support from Leonard Peikoff, to David Kelley, most of
these people now refuse to have anything to do with me.

However I know where to find some of the people who were in my living room,
and I have one who would be glad to confirm my story.

Not difficult at all.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you Mike Maikowski:

START OF MESSAGE FROM MIKE MAIKOWSKI

Hi everybody!

My name is Mike Maikowski. I don't normally post to newsgroups (don't even
know how), so I'm posting this message on Chris's newsgroup account.

I've been involved in Objectivism even longer than Chris has. I was
present, with Chris, during the dinner with Andrew Bernstein, and the
subsequent meeting in Chris's home. I saw, firsthand, how Andrew Bernstein
behaved like an ill-mannered clod. I can vouch for the accuracy of
everything Chris said in his post entitled "My Dinner With Andy." In fact,
I helped Chris write that post (Chris had forgotten a couple of minor
details.)

And if anyone wants to contact me privately about this subject, via e-mail,
my address is 72456...@compuserve.com.

That's all for now. Back to Chris.

Given the fact that my reputation, on this newsgroup, for accurate
reporting of the facts, is unimpeachable, your request for corroborating
evidence of my claims is a much greater waste of precious electrons.

But never let it be said that I failed to make ALL the facts available. Or
to provide evidence of my claims.
