Page 43 of "The Emperor Frederick II of Hohenstaufen" by
Thomas Curtis van Cleve, 1972, contains a genealogical chart
that shows the parents of John de Brienne (Titular King of
Jerusalem) were ERARD OF BRIENNE and AGNES OF
MONTBELIARD (accent over the E). I don't know where the
chart originated, however, does anyone know if these were
really King John's parents?

Weis' "Ancestral Roots. . ." (114:26) has Agnes' father as Richard II,
Count of Montbeliard. and Jean de Brienne as King of Jerusalem, and also as
"Emporer of Constantinople."
