Hi I have imported all users from their PST files bar
one. Exmerge.log file says "one or more messages may not
have been copied - unknown error" The folders have copied
over and the exchange log is increasing in size. All user
were exported at the same time. Only difference is the
problem pst is 1.89 Gb all others max 120 mb. Can this be
an issue ? I also opened Outlook and was unable to copy
the emails manually (even one at a time) Please help.
thanks PS export from Exch 2000 (SBS) import to Exch 2003
(SBS)

I *think* there's a 200 MB default mailbox quota on bringing these into
Exchange 2003 unless you specifically set a larger quota on the mailboxes in
Exchange 2000 before using Exmerge. If Kevin Weilbacher is lurking around
here, I believe he had this problem recently on an upgrade from SBS
2000-->SBS 2003.

Hello Wayne,

The problem you are having (thanks for the good documentation in the
original post) is due to the fact that SBS2k3 puts mailbox limits of 200 MB
per user. That is why the one user is failing. You can overwrite the
global mailbox limit in Active Directory for that user. Go to the Exchange
General tab, then Storage Limits. Up the limit for the user to allow
Exmerge to complete. You may want to adjust the global 200mb limit as well.
That is on the properties sheet of "mailbox store", Limits tab in Exchange
System Manager.

You will need to restart the Exchange System Attendant for the changes to
take effect.

Thanks for posting!!

Yep, go ahead and change the default for that user and all will be fine!

I can also confirm that if you are doing an inplace upgrade from SBS2000 to
SBS2003, you can change the default size for either a particular user or
group of users while still on SBS2000 and your settings will be retained
when you upgradse to SBS2003.
