Hi everyone:
Just a note to introduce the New Millennium Winter Solstice Orgy.
I was a big fan of Lord Malinov's Winter Solstice Orgy back in 1997,
and I have always wished that someone would bring the idea back.
Well, I've decided to try resurrecting it again. Take a look at this

If you are interested in participating send in a story: If you wrote a
story for the original Orgy feel free to contribute it to the new
site. You don't need to conform to the medieval theme; your story can
be anything pertaining to the season, placed in any timeframe. In
short no rules. It would be nice if you gave a short description of
your story and whether or not you want a contact address shown with
the story. This address will help when submitting a story:

The winter solstice celebrations have an interesting history:
IN ANCIENT EGYPT: The god-man/savior Osiris died and was entombed on
December 21st. "At midnight, the priests emerged from an inner shrine
crying 'The Virgin has brought forth! The light is waxing" and showing
the image of a baby to the worshipers."
IN ANCIENT GREECE: The winter solstice ritual was called Lenaea, the
Festival of the Wild Women. In very ancient times, a man representing
the harvest god Dionysos was torn to pieces and eaten by a gang of
women on this day. Later in the ritual, Dionysos would be reborn as a
baby. By classical times, the human sacrifice had been replaced by the
killing of a goat. The women's role had changed to that of funeral
mourners and observers of the birth.
IN ANCIENT ROME: Saturnalia began as a feast day for Saturn on
December 17th and of Ops December 19th. About 50 BCE, both were later
converted into two-day celebrations. During the Empire, the festivals
were combined to cover a full week: December 17 - 23rd.
How about we start our own tradition? This site will stay up all year
long and for as long as ASSTR survives. That means that any author how
has an itch can contribute anytime they want to, even in July if the
fancy strikes.
Some authors have written or are writing stories for the festival
already, but it won't really be a fun place to visit unless the whole
ASS community adds their unique slant on things.

I already post to ASSM and archive on ASSTR with no rules. What's the
difference? There's gotta be a difference. Only that it's a long night?

The sites are, sadly, gone afaik. I know there was Malinov's Castle,
and the stories for that one were primarily medieval-themed.

Personally, I think it'd be better if the stories were to stay with
some form of medieval theme (for this one, anyway--another of
Malinov's Solstice Orgies was a tropical island thing); I remember a
delightful little vignette Virago wrote for Malinov's Castle. Was
perfect for the theme--involved a dark alcove and a warrior-maiden...

Let's see if I can remember this right ...
Malinov's Castle was where Malinov hosted his solstice orgy of erotic
authors. He invited authors to submit something for a room of the castle,
which were woven into the labyrinth of web pages that made up the orgy. The
reader entered through the front gate and was given a choice of paths to
take. Closet, dungeon, alcove, nursery, tower, secret passageways ...
different paths/links led to different rooms. I think Malinov himself wrote
several of the transition pieces: the hallways and stairwells and the like.
I don't recall the stories being especially medieval - the castle was just
an exotic setting for modern stories.
I think Malinov encouraged people to write themselves into their stories,
but my memory is fuzzy on that. Many rooms had authors boinking other
authors.
My general impression: this is fiction, let your fantasies run rampant!

Yes, the whole point was that all ASSDers were invited to Malinov's castle.
We haven't seen much of Malinov in these parts lately. Maybe he's hiding out
in that castle with Taria and Kim and Celeste and Uther and M1ke Hunt and the
