God became man in the person of Jesus Christ. His miracles were His
authenticity while His resurrection demonstrated His veracity.

Wrong..His ministry, death, resurrection and subsequent atonement was
for the Jew as well as the Gentile. He even died for you and loves
you, el!!! He didn't just die for the Israelites, though He did come
in fulfillment of the passover feast. Isn't it interesting how the
rest of human culture celebrates a holiday in the wake of some
event..Take Independance Day, for example. Americans celebrate July
4th in honor and memorial to the day that we became a sovereign
nation. The Jewish people were given their holidays by God and
celebrated the passover years and years before the prefigured event
took place.

So then God really did have to kill himself to appease himself, so
that he wouldn't have to roast us (his beloved creations) alive
for all eternity, except that he didn't really die?

Except that most of those Jews alive and present at the time this
supposedly happened didn't get caught up in the cult of Jesus for some
"odd" reason. The cult really didn't seem to catch on except in
places far away from where these events allegedly took place. Rather
odd don't you think?

And Christians celebrate Christmas on the traditional day of an old
Pagan holiday. So what's your point?

Hi Amy.....How ya doin?
Just a couple of quick points.

1) You say god created everything...Correct?

Therefore he created evil and hate...Correct?

2) You stated that you believe everything in the bible...Correct?

Do you believe the story where god told Abraham to kill his son?

You said that you have children....Correct?

If you heard a voice purporting to be from "god" and telling you to
kill one of your children....Would you do it?

Please answer....No fair dodging...

Personally, the Abraham story is a show stopper for me....Any so-called
"god" who would even ASK to have a child killed is nothing more than
a child-abusing freak. I'd eat a fucking bullet before I'd kill one of my kids.

The way I see it, anyone who believes in *that* god, can kiss the
rear end of my ass.

PS- Is it better to do the right thing because of fear of punishment or
just because it *IS* the right thing?

You don't seem to understand the basics, Laymy. The Jews are just as
profoundly stupid and misguided as you Christian fuckheads. They've just
been at it longer.

You have a really gigantic tookus, don't you?

God said to Abraham 'Kill me a son"
Abe said "Man you must be putting me on"
God said "No"
Abe said "What"
God said "You can do what you want but,
the next time you see me comming you better run"

Abe said "Where you want this killing done"
God said "Down on highway 61"

.............. Bob Dylan

Always liked that tune, but there is more to the story than voices in
someones
head telling them to kill their son, there Harlow. Issac was promised to Abe
by
messagers, or angels, of God when his wife Sara was old and barren.

If you bothered to read the whole account you would see that in conclusion
the reason for God's request of Abe was so he could understand how god
felt for having to sacrifice his son for mankind.

I noticed you evaded my direct question.
This is understandable.
I stand by my assertion........Either the bible is a lie or god is

You are almost right...The only error in your statement is in saying
that He didn't really die. He DID die and was resurrected on the third

The Jews of that time (and the orthodox ones of today as well) were
really caught up in the LAW. The "righteous" Jew would not even think
to cook a meal on the sabbath, much less HEAL people of degenerative
diseases and blindness, etc.etc. This is the reason that most Jews did
not join the ranks of Christianity....They were so bound by the Law
that they could not see the actual fulfillment of it.

Boy, that point totally flew over your head!!
Ok, try to stay with me this time, Mr. Wilson....

The Jews celebrated holidays that *prefigured* the appearance of their
Messiah and the redemptive work that He would do for their sake.Note
the Passover feast that was first celebrated by Moses and the children
of Israel - The people were required to save a spotless and perfect
lamb and feed it for several days in the home. The night of the
passover they were required to slaughter this lamb and apply the blood
to three spots on the door: above and each side - (This actually
prefigures the sign of the cross on the door) That night the death
angel came through town and killed all of the first born males of the
families that had not honored the sacrifice and blood application. The
next day, the people that had carried through the ritual were free to
go out of Egypt and away from bondage.

Many years later, Christ would appear as that perfect lamb and be
slaughtered, shedding His blood on the cross as sacrifice. On the
third day He rose and all who believe in Him (thus applying His blood
over the door of their heart) are now free and are promised eternal
life! This actually occurred on the Passover, in complete fulfillment.

All other societies/cultures celebrate holidays AFTER the memorable
event takes place.

My statement had nothing to do with Christmas, but since you brought
that up, I will just use that as another example here. We today
celebrate Christmas in memorial to the birth of the Christ child,
years AFTER the fact.

The entire point is that the holidays that God ordained for the Jew
were given to prefigure, rather than to memorialize.

This is not exactly right... He created free will, which has only
allowed for evil, hate, pain, suffering, sickness, death,etc.etc. Note
that He has used evil, hateful men in the past to accomplish His
perfect will.

>
>2) You stated that you believe everything in the bible...Correct?

That is, again, correct.

>Do you believe the story where god told Abraham to kill his son?

Yep...I sure do.
He was testing Abraham ... God Himself was willing to give His Son to
die, so Abraham would be, too, if he truly was after God's heart.

As it turned out, Abraham passed this test and led Isaac to the alter.
The little boy, on their way to Mt. Moriah, asked his father where the
sacrificial animal was, and Abraham responded by saying that God would
provide it.
So Abraham was obediantly doing God's command while at the same time
exercising faith that God would indeed provide the animal for
sacrifice.

If you keep reading you, you will see how Abraham was stopped from his
task by the angel of God who said to him,
"Do not lay your hands on the lad, or do anything to him; for now I
know that you fear God, since you have not withheld you son, your only
son, from Me." (Gen 22:12) Then he was pointed to a ram that had been
caught by its horns in a thicket nearby.

This prefigures how God Himself would offer His only beloved Son to
die a horrible sacrificial death once for all...Even YOU!

>You said that you have children....Correct?

I have two beautiful little girls who are soon to be teenagers.

>If you heard a voice purporting to be from "god" and telling you to
>kill one of your children....Would you do it?

I know God's voice. It is a still, small voice that speaks to my
thoughts. He has never led me in the wrong direction and He never
will.

>Please answer....No fair dodging...

IF that still, small voice of God ever said that to me, I would have
no other choice.....

BUT you must understand that the redemptive work has been done and He
calls us to love one another. He would never tell me anything that
would conflict with His word, the Bible.(Which I believe 100% of,
remember?) My number one, God-ordained mission in this life is to rear
those girls that He gave me, so in reality, if I heard something say
that to me I would instantly know that it was not God who said it.

>Personally, the Abraham story is a show stopper for me....Any so-called
>"god" who would even ASK to have a child killed is nothing more than

See above.

>The way I see it, anyone who believes in *that* god, can kiss the
>rear end of my ass.

He probably already has because He loves you so much - enough to die
for you.
Why don't you say a prayer right now and ask to be forgiven of your
sin? Ask that He reveal Himself to you and tell Him that you want a
fresh start in this life. He will forgive you and give you eternal
life because Christ has already paid for the death that is the
consequence of sin.
Even you will never be the same again!!

>PS- Is it better to do the right thing because of fear of punishment or
>just because it *IS* the right thing?

What is this "right thing" that you are referring to? Is it the belief
in Christ? Noone should love Jesus out of fear of punishment. Equally,
noone should love Him out of mere obligation.Neither of these are the
mark of true love. This is not what God is looking for.

Rather the love should stem from your thankfulness in Him for
forgiving you so freely and giving you the hope in Him and the promise
of life eternal.

Some sacrifice. He took a three day nap. Either way, it demonstrates
how silly your religion is. God takes the form of a man and allows
himself to be killed in order to appease himself. Sounds like a silly

You know Carl, there was a story a while back about a woman
in New York who put her 2 yr. old baby in the oven, locked the
oven door and turned it to broil.....
When police questioned her she said that, "God told me to do it".

They say it took 2 weeks to get the smell out of the house.........

No, in fact, the rapid spread of Christianity during a time when the
Roman Empire had reached the height of its cultural splendor; a time
when most of the world spoke Greek and roads had been constructed
throughout the vast empire...serves only to verify the statement that
"when the fullness of time had passed" God sent His Son. The religious
Jews of the Sanhedrin could not refute the proof of the resurrection

*proof* would you accept for Jesus' historical life and subsequent
death and resurrection? My bets are that if the proof stood right in

some way to refute and deny it.

It does seem so, doesn't it? But that is the nature of sin...The
consequence of sin is death and so it is SIN that is barbaric.

As I said above, it is sin that is barbaric. God's love and mercy is
what drove the sacrifice in order to cover for sin, and if that seems
barbaric to you, then that's too bad. It's not my rule, it's God's,
the Creator.

What do you consider verifiable? If one believes the Bible to be the
true, inerrant, revelation of God and His ultimate plan for the crown
of His creation, then this is where the person would turn for the
verification. However, if one decides that the Bible is not correct,
he must look otherwise for answers... Check the archeological records.
No human artifact that has ever been recovered has prooved the Bible
wrong. In fact, more and more the *rocks are crying out*..For
example..It used to be said that there were no historical records for
a King David of Israel, however one diligent archeologist uncovered an
ancient coin in a middle eastern dig that had a reference to such a
king.

Hello;

1.  GOD created everything, yes.  As far as evil and hate, let's identify what Hate and Evil are.  First, hate and evil are not two different things.  Hate is but a small part of evil.  When you look at what really identifies evil as evil, no one person or thing is evil.  Evil comprises the all negitive emotions with out possitive emotions.
2.  When the Bible states that GOD told Abraham to sacrafice his only son it was not just a whisper in the wind or vioces in his head.  Abraham, a man filled with faith, did not have to make the choice on faith alone.  He had what is called the burning bush.  The actual translation of the original language would look something like "radiant aura" visually.  This is all we know from text.  We already know Abraham was of sound mind:  no one ever questioned his orders or words.  Also, he would have reconized the "voice" as that of GOD.  GOD came to him a number of times before that, even blessing him, over 100 years old, and his 90 + year old wife with that son.  The whole point of that event was a pralude to the birth of Christ.

If you have not ever studied the Bible, sit down and try it out.  Any questions you have, find someone qualified to answer them.  If you don't like the answer you get, go find someone more qualified.  I'm not a minister or preist, just someone who had questions and searched for the answers.  It took me many years, almost 1/2 my life.  The rewards are greater then I can discribe.  Every moment of my life today is filled with an undiscribale awearness and emotion and sense of being.  Most likly you thinking, or telling your family, "This guy is an idit!" or something simular.  I can understand that from your point of view.  Without knowing me you only have faith to go on.  Unfortunate.  If you knew who I was then, and met me today, you would think I was someone else who only looks like me.

The world would be a better place with a little faith and a lot of understanding.

How do you know? You said you would kill your kid if "God" told you to. How would you know if you heard "THE VOICE OF GOD" in you head that you
weren't just going insane? The fact that you would even say you would kill your children if you thought "God" was telling you to makes you insane and
an unfit mother as far as I am concerned.

Can somebody please resolve where Nutty Amy is posting from and notify the child welfare people in her area before she does something horrible? This
broad is bonkers.

Your assertion is built on false logic, must be either black or white,
that is false logic, there are many levels of gray between black and white
that you fail to consider. In answer to the question you put forth to Amy,
that you acuse me of avoiding. Your narrow, linear logic question:

"If you heard a voice purporting to be from "god" and telling you to

I assume that was the question you are referring to, the answer is:

Any Christian who has reached spiritual maturity knows that Christ has
already
paid the price and the true God would not be asking any man at this time to
sacrifice
their children, any voices one would hear in their head could very well be a
sign of mental
illness, or an attempt of demonic possesion, if said voice(s) asked of them
to offer up their
child as a sacrifice.

Christ died once for all time for all of mankind, the ransom has been paid.
Anyone or thing
asking for another installment, or payment, is not from the true God.

You know Aimly, Twonky and those buggering brits Dr. Piss and PassTurds
still observe a similar tradition. They sometimes substitute a goat for
the lamb and they insist on doing the feeding at its back end. But all

Man, with his greed and lust for power, has always perverted
anything pure and wholesome into some twisted, corrupt, version
of the original. Jesus overturned money changers/lenders tables over
in the temple because corruption had already infested the priesthood
in his day.

Jesus warned the early congregation (group of people, not a building)
that something similar would happen to the christian church. Today it is
as it was in Jesus's day. The church,or temple, is more concerned with
making money than the spiritual and physical health of their congregation.

One of the original duties that the temple was supposed to adhere to was to
take care of widows and orphanes. To take care of the congregations physical
as well as spiritual needs. They now take the 10% of the worth of the people
to
suite their own needs, rather than oversee that the needs of the poor, under
their
direction, are taken care of.

Children fed and clothed, roof over their head, jobs made available to those
in need,
things of that nature. You look after your own.
Most all of your modern flavors of Christianity
do not make an attempt to serve the function for which they were originally
designed.

It is no supprize.
Powers of corruption have long seen organized religion as a means of
controling
masses of population. Organized religion gives God a bad rap. Organized
Religion
is the whore that rides the back of the beast. The harlot that is drunk on
the blood
of the prophets. The whore that has relations with all the kings of the
earth.

The whore that the beast will one day devour.
Won't you dance that day, E.L.

Which does nothing to change the fact that your cult is based on some
god sacrificing himself to himself. But hey, you haven't really
addressed any issues so far, so why should I expect you to start now?

Read your history Amy. Christianity really didn't begin to gain
widespread acceptance until the late 3rd century and early 4th
century. Until then is was just another minor mystery cult. Also you
again fail to address the point that it never really took off in the
*very place* where it all supposedly happened. It only seemed to take
root and eventually flourish in places far away from those claimed
events and witnesses. Exactly what you'd expect if it never really
happened and was just another myth that became the basis of a
religion..

> a time

popular religion.

Christianity was hardly a major threat to the Roman Empire during the
time of Nero. They were a very small minority at the time which is
why he singled them out as scapegoats for the great fire that burned
down much of Rome. They were such a small minority that they didn't
have enough political influence to worry about.

> BTW, just out of curiosity, what
>*proof* would you accept for Jesus' historical life and subsequent
>death and resurrection?

The accounts of Jesus are hardly historical anymore than Egyptian
stories about their gods are historical. Perhaps if we had some
references from contemporary sources with no vested interests then
there might be some reason to think that he really existed. After
all, some guy supposedly performing all those miracles in front of so
many witnesses and then rising from the dead should have created quite
a stir, shouldn't it? Not to mention all those zombies wondering
around Jerusalem right after the crucifixion! (Matt 27:52-53) You'd
think someone not already a "believer" would have noticed, wouldn't
you?

But the historians of the day make no mention of these supposed
events. Of course later Christians sometimes tried to fix this little
problem by inserting obvious forgeries like the one inserted in
"Antiquities" (written by Josephus) most likely by the "early church
father" Eusebius.

> My bets are that if the proof stood right in

The problem is that you don't have *any* real evidence let alone proof
Amy. Therefore any speculation about the level of proof I'd require is
moot. First come up with *any*real evidence and then we'll see.

No, the fact that Christmas replaced the pagan holiday is evidence
that Christianity seeks to wipe out other belief systems. What you

Except for the fact that Jericho was destroyed long before the
Israelites supposedly destroyed it. Except for the fact that no one
has found any Hebrew artifacts in the Sinai despite the claim that
about 600,000 Hebrews wandered around there for 40 years, etc.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about, then it was
a clay artifact that mentioned something about "House of David".
Hardly surprising since the Hebrews have long believed that such a man
existed. This is no more surprising than finding an ancient Greek
artifact mentioning Zeus....

But if you are talking about something else, then please provide a
reference URL.

Nice dodge of the truth. I believe that YOU have just committed a sin, Amy.
If god created EVERYTHING then he created evil.
As I said....No fair dodging.

Sounds like ol Abe was getting ready to bugger the "lad"
Maybe he was the precursor of a priest?

What a great father....A shining example to all good christians...Don't
sacrifice yourself....Kill the kids instead....Sick bastard, god.

Not really. It would just mean that something happened that we didn't

have that much evidence of a God.

God has a thing about killing kids. The Old Testament is full of
examples. Even Amy said that she'd kill her children "IF that still,
small voice of God" ever told her to. Personally, I think she's a
danger to her children.

Christians consistently fail to see this. If the story is true, then
Jesus basically took a long nap. He was then brought back to life and
went to live in a paradise. Not much of a sacrifice.

God could have just miracled Satan's ass right out of existence. But
God choose to let him cause pain and suffering. God must be a sadist.

Then I guess that means Amy isn't a "Real True Christian"(tm) since
she doesn't rule out the possibility that God might demand this.
Either that or Amy is the "Real True Christian" here and you're not.
It's so hard to tell when dealing with something as slippery as
Christianity.....
