i.e. ME and SE problem.

I've tried all the recommended fixes, all 50 tips, (thank you very much
Carey) and still all can not see each other. I've even removed NIC's to
different slots and reloaded network s/w and reinstalled. Tested cables
and they pass.

Topo:

OR1 ME with Linksys card. See's itself in My Networkplaces. Can not see
others, message says they do not exist.
OR2 SE with Linksys card. Can print to and see files on OR3. Does not
see anything in Network Neighborhood
OR3 SE with Linksys card Can see files on OR2. (OR2 does not have a
printer.) Does not see anything in Network Neighborhood

File and printer sharing enabled on all.

All can use ICS.

When I display Winipcfg OR2 and OR3 have expected and seemingly valid
entries. OR1 has a check in IP Routing Enabled and all 0's for Adapter
Address. Shouldn't this have some value greater than 0 and should IP
Routing be unchecked?

Thank you.

Some LinkSys cards require NetBEUI, IPX and TCP/IP loaded in order to work correctly. I recommend adding all the above protocols to all PCs and let me know if it makes a difference.

Thanks for the quick response.

I recommend temporarily removing BlackICE until the problem is resolved.

Did that. Still no joy.
Somebody posted a few days back instructions to remove all trace of passwords from your system. Can anybody report this? Thanks.

All is well at the Estate of the Goods. Dogs, Bear and Wanda, are resting, horses have been fed, the cool breezes are blowing through the Sycamores and the network is networking. Four weeks of
fighting a bad NIC. Bought a new Linksys card today, popped it in and all the right things happened. I think I will give this card a Viking funeral. It's certainly not worth the time of a warranty
claim.

Carey I really appreciate your help with this problem

Ah, a bad NIC... nothing worse than a problem you can't fix. At least you got it figured out sooner than later and aren't wasting any more time trying to diagnose it. Glad to hear everything is now working for you. Thank you for the update.
