so i go see my hero in dc, great show, great songs, can't wait til the cd is
out becuz i know i'm gonna love it. the guy that did layne's parts wasn't even
bad, mind you the vocals were rather low on all the mics. God did a million
solos in front of me, just like last time woo hoo.

so enter the drunk obnoxious bitches who decided to force their way to the
front and be rude (all they had to do was say excuse me or do you mind if me
and my friend blah blah, i'm always willing to share with jerry fans but if you
think yer gonna just push my ass outta the way think again). so yeah my friend
drove all the way from fucking south carolina to go to the dc show and i'm
trying to make sure she gets a good view and these drunk girls were fucking
shit up. so there ended up being a physical confrontation and the only thing
that kept me from not beating the shit out of one of them was knowing i'd get
kicked out, miss the rest of God's show, and have my friend's camera taken
away. but that's not the bad part, the bad part is that Jerry was giving away
shit and he gave away a towel or something and he specifically pointed to one
of the obnoxious drunk chicks and gave it to her. so now i know to get trashed
before a jerry concert and be an asshole in order to be appreciated as a fan.
ahem....

oh and after the show some of us hung around. i just want to shake the man's
hand once and tell him i think he's an amazing songwriter. so ya know, at
least an hour goes pass and ya know what? the bus started up and they pulled
off. jerry stiffed a measely 17 fans. i guess he just didn't have the time.
oh well, fuck it right.

whatever expect nothing and you won't be disappointed...

i'm fucking disappointed.

perhaps i should follow this newsgroup and maybe i'll learn why it is that he
plays next to nothing, wait, only ONE song off of Boggy but then plays a
million Alice songs, including ones written by Layne?!?! wha? I went there to
see Jerry fucking Cantrell. i feel cheated. i have never been disappointed in
that man until this nite. i have doubts of ever seeing him play again.

Same type of thing happened to me. I saw Jerry standing on the corner
waiting for a taxi,
with no one else around. I shook his hand and asked him to sign some stuff
and he said "not right now, gotta get some dinner before the show". I mean
he could have taken the 5 seconds to sign stuff. But whatever. We he came
back, he saw me still standing there waiting, and he was just talking on the
cell phone the whole time. I think something was bothering him. Who knows...

So, do you honestly think that Jerry is paying close enough attention
to know that these girls rudely pushed their way in front of you and
is rewarding them for their behavior because he's a sick fuck who gets
his jollies that way?

Geoff Tate, who is eerily observant, told me once that he doesn't
really see individuals past the third row and really doesn't pay any
special attention to the front rows as a whole. (Yes Outta Site, I
had to drop his name again. LOL.)

And, Jerry, well, he's not been traditionally really observant of his
audience.

I would fill in one of my back in the day stories here but it's really
just kind of dumb so I won't.

It's nice when they stay for autographs but, you know, they get sick &
tired and need personal time like anyone. I love my customers 8 hours
a day but at 4:35 I don't want to hear hide nor hair of them.

I'm sorry you were disappointed by the show. I'd like Jer to bag all
that AIC music and focus on his own, but, you know, he doesn't listen
to us.

Someone told me Jerry doesn't like the internet. What do you know, he
DOES have flaws.

no that's not what i think at all.

yeah, well we were 1st and a half row and he was quite aware of our existence.

understandable but i would be considerate enough to have someone come out and
let the fans know that. the security told people to stand next to the wall in
a line which implied he would come out. same thing happened his show here 3
years before. i know yer not always in a mood to greet your fans, would it
have a been big deal to say "hey" and then pull off? he knew we were out
there, he came out, walked to a uhaul and walked back to the bus without
acknowledging our presence. an hour went pass and the bus just left.

i'm quite aware he has flaws, hell a lot of flaws. i just expected him to have
more of an appreciation for his fans. my bad.

Yes, i do. how the fuck else would he have seen them? besides, i was
watching his eyes the whole time. he saw us. we were fucking 4½ feet
away. he said something to me as a matter of fact (leave you w/that
mystery.) he knew what the fuck was going on. and if for some totally
odd reason he didn't, his band woulda been updating him - they talk
and smile and shit constantly onstage

and the stupid drunk 12-yr-old had a shirt that said "i want alice in
chains" or some stupid crap HELLO we were there to see Jerry Cantrell.
remember? gee i'm so sorry i don't wear a dryper and thick-rimmed

17 people? that would have taken ¼ the time it did to investigate
Swarm's U-Haul, sit on my car, and eat 23 pizzas. shit man! he coulda
been done w/us all in no time. ok i admit, i might take a little bit
longer, but i'm
over 30.... *hehe* and the fact that he fucking waited two hours
until exactly 2:00 am (last call for you teenies) is totally
aggravating. he coulda dropped us in 5 mins and we coulda either
sloshed it up or made it home in time to get some sleep before job
interviews.

1. Jerry is a rock star. don't let his down home demeanor fool you.
he's a rock star and behaves accordingly. He's also a human (I think,
but then he coiuld be one of those guy sin teh MIB movie..you
know..all celebrities are aliens n shit..) but really all that does is
excuse an inconsistencies in behavior. damn. I have more non-linear
days than straightforward.

2. well, I forgot what two was...uhh....

3. jerry plays AIC tunes cos he misses being in a real band (OUCH)...

4. yes. boggy depot is a kickass album. unfortunately none of the
major record companies seem to think he's anykind of a profit margin,
so .....you'd think the guy woulda learned his lesson after two rounds
of unsatisfactory satisfaction.

5. The teaser is pretty killer, but it's also really really obvious
from packagin to production that it's definitely dimaonds in the
rough. s4d is polished enough. I don't like music that's too
polished, but that;s just me.

6. oh yeah, #2 was maybe he don't see that far, but he can definietly
hear the standout drunk or two...and respond accordingly. If you
heard the boot, he didn't treat me to respectfuly, but hey! HE's a
rock star, duh. He wasn't outrightly mean or asinine, so I figure
that makes him a fairly decent guy...even all fucked up n shit he
seems to be a fairly geneal guy..bu then again..punchin holes in
drywall? that sounds a bit too close to home for me..hell, I've
kicked, punched, butted my share of passageways into the next room
through the wall...heh. he's probably alright in a good mood. I'm
not sure how congenial he'd be sober...same deal with zakk wylde..I
think I'd get along as long as we were drinkin. I'm just kind of a n
irritating asshole otherwise...heh again.

7. pretty certain that dumb drunk asinine chicks make excellent fucks,
for a few reasons and I'm pretty sure he knows how to pick out the
winners in a crown..I don't think he's looking for new best
freinds....

8. I forgot 8 too. I been busy , gimme a break...

ps-if Jer isn't confident enough in his own songs that he has to play more AIC
tunes than his own than perhaps I should go out and re-buy AIC albums (or how
about that greatest hits man!?!) instead of DTrip.

i see it a different way...aic songs are pretty much jerry's songs...he wrote
the majority of them....it's just different players...
it's like if van halen goes out and gets another singer, they cant play
roth,hagar,and cherone(heh)?
i think jerry's entitled to do whatever he wants.
or you could just look at it as him playin cover songs...he does cover floyd
and hendrix...so why not aic?

AiC: Greatest Hits! Coming to stores near you! Tell Columbia "YES! This is what
I want to hear! Not 25 new Jerry Cantrell songs, fuck that! I want to buy the
same shit I already own and have memorized over and over! I want to live in the
past and see the AiC name become synonymous with 'dead band with people
vicariously milking them for cash.'"

I think everyone has a good point....but I have to lean towards what k is
saying...I think as a rock star you should know that your fans expect something
from you after they have been waiting in the cold for hours just to get a
glimps of you...I think that Jerry walking by and saying something like thanks
so much for coming to see me...I wish I could sign something for all of you...
but I'm just too tired...I hope you understand...Thanks so much...blah blah
blah and then walk to his bus, would have been much more acceptable to the fans
than nothing at all...I think when a rock star ...or anyone for that
matter...can't stop and give a little more to the few fans on the side..then
they are no longer 100% dedicated to the fans...and after all...the fans make
the fame and the money for the person, if they can't do that...then they
shouldn't be performing anymore...Its disappointing to pay a lot of money to
see someone and then get let down...I totally understand. You know...one of the
coolest famous people I have met is Kevin Smith...(For those of you who don't
know him...he is the director of Mallrats,Clerks,Chasing Amy, and Dogma...you
know...Silent Bob...)Last October I went to a little film festivle he held
called Vulgarthon...and let me tell you...We waited for hours in the freezing
cold in New Jersey...(I'm from Boston) it was FREEZING...(my body didn't warm
up untill hours after we were on our way home...and it was an all day event)
anyway...we waited and when we finally got in he talked to us in the
theater...he was one of the coolest people I have ever met...after they showed
a movie kevin, Jason Lee, Jay Mewes and a bunch of other cast members got up
and talked to everyone and answered questions untill EVERYONE was done
asking...then they would show another movie..and so on...During the
intermissions they would go out into the lobby and take pictures with people
and sign autographs...Kevin Smith is pretty big now and I think its so cool
that he held his little movie thing and recognized his loyal fans...to me that
was awesom...its like after his fame...he still remembers the people who got
him to where he is and lets the fans know he appreciates them...and their
support...it just makes you feel better knowing all your support is recognized
and appreciated. ...well I hope I haven't bored you to death with my
rambling...

I have to agree...to me it just seems like he has no faith in his work without
the other chains...(or maybe without Layne) why would you bother putting out a
side project if you are going to play stuff that was your old main
project...Maybe he realizes that the fans like the AiC shit better than his own

plays his own songs..if he mostly going to play AiC stuff then he should call
his tour AiC - missing a link
But thats just my two cents...

Well, only one ("Got Me Wrong"), but that works for me.
With regards to your story, that's cool, and consistent with what I've heard.

Well, you're just the anomaly, I guess.
Seriously, my biggest problem with Clerks is that it's not really a movie, just
a collection of loosely connected scenes. But the dialogue is so consistently
entertaining and funny that I don't mind much. What'd you think of other Kevin

Fascinating Behind-The-Scenes Info: that guy was a walk-on. It took him forever to get

I agree that it's kinda odd and disappointing, especially considering that he used
to play lots of solo stuff, like on the Boggy tour.

My guess is he's just figuring no one will get into the Deg-Trip stuff (which he
likes a lot better than Boggy, presumably) since the majority of people still
haven't heard it. Maybe things will be different in five years when the album gets
released.

No accounting for taste, I guess. I've started to appreciate Mallrats a little
more than when I originally saw it, but it's still far and away his weakest film,
in my mind. Some good stuff mixed in there, but some of it is just cringe-worthy.

I do, too. I'm especially fond of salmon. Not to eat, though, I mean, to me
salmon tastes a lot like what I imagine cat food tastes like and since I've not
yet completed my metamorphosis into vampire cat woman, I don't like cat food.
But I think salmon are very interesting. I once watched three one-hour
documentaries about salmon on the Nature Channel back-to-back, much to the
amusement of my mother who said that even salmon didn't think salmon were that
interesting.

I guess I'm in the minority here when I say that I was thrilled to hear him
play almost all AIC stuff. AIC is one of my favorite bands of all time, and
I never saw them back in the day (although I've been a fan since 91), so I
couldn't be happier to see the man behind AIC play these fantastic songs
live. I was afraid he would play mostly new stuff from DT that I haven't
even heard yet, and although thankfully he didn't, I must say the two or
three new songs were the low points of the show for me (although with a few
listens, I'm sure the new songs are good-- I just like to hear songs I know
in concert).

I would rather have seen more solo stuff on the setlist. Songs like "anger
rising" and "dickeye" would have been great live. But honestly, I think I
enjoyed the show MUCH more with it being mostly AiC songs. The crowd was
going nuts too.

Sorry, guess I should have put quotes around it. Line from Chasing Amy. Banky's getting his ass
kicked at video hocky, and saying things like "would you look at these fags?" and "Your dike-hoarding
ass just got me scored on." Holden finally responds with that quote.

> ~post of many questions~

Serious question?
Aw, why not? Well, I'm straight, but have a few bisexual tendancies. I believe that people aren't
really "gay"/"straight"/"bi" with no middle ground; there's more like a spectrum. So I'm still in the
"straight" region on the sliding scale, but closer to the "bi" region than some.

Well, if you're enough of a Smith fan, check out the DVD versions of his movies, with all the
commentaries and extras and shit. You see some of the real Jason Mewes there; he's kinda like his
character. To use a bad cliché, Jay is Mewes "with the volume turned way up." The almost-constant
stupor, the random comments, and the just-not-getting-it seem real, but the real guy seems much quieter
than the character. Shy, even.

Heh. Well, some cat food is made from fish, but you could probably just cut your
teeth on the stuff made from meat instead... well, I hate to advocate meat to
anyone, but we don't get many vegetarian vampire cat women, so...

I don't know too much about salmon, but they seemed cool. One thing that always
gave me a weirdly contented feeling was that part of the Aquarium where you take
the ramp down into the underwater area and you see salmon swimming by above you
through the window in the ceiling. You know, "Above you are young Coho salmon.
They were hatched last Spring..."

Not so much. The most intellegent people I know are "drug addled". It's
the only way to deal with the shit.

Of course, that's on their off time. No super-intellegent people I know are
stoned on the job or when their kids are up and active. That's just not
intellegent.

Godsmack = Linkin Park? No. Everyone has their opinion, and you know that
I respect the fact that you have the right to yours...just 'cause I love
you, ya know, but I love Godsmack. Just have to state that.

Screw it. I like smiley's. They are trite, but they work.

Speaking of lady vampires and such, are there any Vampirella fans here,
besides me, of course?

The transformations they make when they're returning to their home grounds to
spawn are amazing. (My favorite shirt that I no longer have & really need to
try and replace had an awesome line drawing of a Coho and said: "Spawn or
die!" Technically, it should be "spawn AND die" because that's what happens,
but it was a rad shirt.)

My grandmother always jokes that even actual marine biologists aren't as
interested in watching fish as I am. I don't have a very good brain for
scientific stuff or I might have studied biology or zoology. (On the other
hand, if my math skills were better I would have gone into chemistry. I love
science, I'm just v-e-r-y slow at learning it.) Anywhere I go that has an
aquarium I will always insist on going to the aquarium. I really like the ones
that have the shallow pools where you can touch various marine animals. At the
New England Aquarium I once got to pet a ray (they feel just like mucus, ugh,
but it was neat, anyhow)...they had a few in a tank and they'd cut their
stingers off. Some poor kid volunteer who was watching the tank actually had
to go get one of the marine biologists on staff to come out and convince me
that the rays didn't suffer from the tail cutting.

*Literal* eating of people doesn't seem very romantic to me, but if you're
speaking of the euphemistic term, that's another thing altogether. I always
like to tell people that I smoke because I have an oral fixation, after all.
LOL. I'm just hoping I'll grow fangs. Fangs are cool.

everyone I know that comes back from alaska has at least one "spawn
till you die" tshirt. the funniest one ever was the one fish, two
fish, dead fish, blue fish. (at least I think that's how it went.
been a while., it might have been an alaskan amber (excellent beer

geez, you guys. look, the matter of homosexuality or bisexuality is
strictly a matter of hygeine with me, alright? I really don't care
who does what, but when I'm involved in the thing, there is no going
to the poo zone...just not like that. me personally...hey, I'm just
as homo as the next guy, but to misquote someone famous (I think it's
kinneson) How can some guy be at a party and actually get drunk enough
to look at another guys hairy ass and say to themselves "Man! I gotta
get me some of that!" so look. I admit it....I looooooove bisexual
nekkid chicks. can't get enough of em. but guys can keep to
themselves, thanks. I danced around this thing for years feeling bad
about it and the way I felt, but I finally just accepted my
piggishness and just don't care what anyone thinks. I think chicks
kissing (in particular hot chicks...oh man, that wild things scene was
the fucking greatest...) is one of the coolest things ever.

although people like to quote the bible regarding homosexuality, I
dare you to show me where it says "thou woman shalt not fuck thine
woman with a giant rubber dick"

Hell, the old testament is depressing...guys daughters get him drunk
and fuck him to get pregnant..? and this was acceptible to god!
then he said that it was BAD . if god don't wnat us to do that, HOW
COME HE DIDN"T MAKE MORE PEOPLE THEN?? (at least to start off wiht)
Not that I do that, I like to encourage genetic diversity...unlike
english royalty...I seem to remember a couple monty python sketches
regarding the running of the nitwits or the gadfly olympics or
something which always consisted of genuine english nobility basically
running into each other and miscellaneous objects and getting lost in
the middle of an open field and such...

anyhow...I've spate enough for one post.

Sadly, the people who gravitate towards rock stations tend to also go for
those
I'm-like-Howard-Stern-only-never-even-remotely-funny-but-I-think-I'm-cool-and-edgy-so-I'll-do-an-all-shock-value-show
morons. The alternative station in Chicago wastes its morning with
Mancow. And the new rock station here in Cleveland doesn't even have DJs
most of the day... but they get Opie and Anthony.

I didn't mean that dammit! I was talking about his style...aw what
the hell, you'll have a innuendo or uphamistic comeback fo rthat

involves jerry is basically going to be about sex. I mean. come

sometimes?

yeah, I know the answer to that one.
