Thanks to the person who created the group, and all who like the kids!

When I was first introduced to KitH, I was shocked to say the least. It took me some time to get used to their humor; now, it is clear they're the best in
the bussiness. I can't wait to get the cable next week so that I can enjoy them once again and start converting more people to watch them!

And how about their theme music? Somehow it perfectly show what KitH are
all about. Does anyone disagree?

Be good everyone,

To those who don't know, their theme music is by Shadowy Men On A Shadowy
Planet and is called Having An Average Weekend. (Don't quote me but I'm
pretty sure on the song name).
It's good that old Canadian TV finally made something that the Americans
want instead of vice versa as usaul. :)

Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet performed here in Davis this summer. I
missed them, since I wasn't living here yet. :(

I have a copy of thier album that the theme sone is off of....it is a
pretty cool CD. There are several other good songs on the CD....I highly
recommend it for those who are into the music on the show.....The name of
the album is called..."Savvy Show Stoppers" and includes songs from some
of their albums from 1985-1988.....they have had a couple of other
albums, but their names escape me (one just released this year).....they
are put out by Cargo Records......check you local store for it!!!

Maybe not once you get further from the border ... Does anyone know
which Shadowy Men titles are available in the U.S.? Otherwise, get
a friend to buy them in Canada for you if you're not going up on your
own ...

A list of Canadian CD exporters (a lot of "imports" are domestic
up there) follow after the page mark ... for those who will never
go up, or at least not really soon ...

If you're looking for "import" CDs, Canada is also another possible
source before going overseas. In particular, for Canadian domestic
releases. (-;

The best way to go is to shop for them IN Canada, Montreal if you
are looking for French language releases. Otherwise, there are a
couple of export services that I know of ...

[Note: While there are only two services listed in the following
article, please follow-up or send me e-mail on any others that
you may know of and have given you GOOD service (I've dropped
a couple from the original list when complaints showed up, but
unrelated to my own referrals).]

[begin referral]

If you're looking for "import" CDs, Canada is also another possible
source before going overseas. Nou Dadoun (dad...@cs.ubc.ca), who
posts now and again, is connected to Black Swan Records in Vancouver,
B.C. but cannot publicize that in first person due to USENET ethics.
Stuff from the Canadian CD Versions list and other imports are often
found as Canadian domestics due to different importation laws and
different market dynamics (smaller market, need more than mass volume
sales). You can reach them at:

Black Swan Records
2936 West 4th Avenue
Vancouver, B.C.
CANADA V6K 1R2

(604) 734-2828
(Pacific time, so you can wait 'til it's cheap to call)

"... specialize in non-mainstream tunes, jazz, folk, world/ethnic
music, etc. And for the last year or so, we've been spinning off
a fairly healthy mailorder business."

Black Swan issued their first catalog this summer; while they
specialize in folk and "world" music, I'm sure that they can
easily order Canadian and "import" titles since they deal with
the same distributors anyways.

I've never used him, as I can just call up my brother, and otherwise
only know him as a bloke on the net; his userid is not for business
usage, unfortunately. I have no other connection to this guy, your
dealings would be strictly with him; this is just the easiest,
simplest, laziest way for me to connect you with a source up north.

Other places that come from word of mouth recommendations are:

A. THE CD BAR
1 (800) 663-1616 / +1 416 977 6863 (fax +1 416 977 6865)
325A Yongs St. Toronto
Toronto, Ontario M5B 1R7 (CANADA)
Imports from around the world, will ship anywhere. Visa,
Mastercard, no COD (no AMEX), or cheques (but you have
to wait for it to clear.)

Neptoon Records
5750 Fraser Street
Vancouver, B.C.

They specialize in collectors' LPs, posters, and used CDs.
And yes, they do mail order!

If you want to take a look at our catalogue, you can FTP it from
FTP.UWP.EDU in directory pub/music/database.

For any information or requests, email : V...@NSTN.NS.CA.

What customers usually find great with us is that we accept <wish lists>
That means if you don't find something in our actual catalogue, you
can ask for quotes. At the moment, our catalogue contains only 4000
titles, but we have access to more than 40,000 titles.

While shopping in person in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver is the
cheapest way to go, there WAS one convenient border outlet that Dave
Miyares recommended on USENET (any replacements/others, people???):

Hell just take a trip up to Niagra Falls and go to this killer record
store called Poptones. It's on the Canadian side and it's got all the
shit. Tons and Tons of domestic Canadian CDs and so forth. I haven't
been able to get to that part of the country (Buffalo) for over 2 years
now, but am dying to.

I just bought Shadowy Men On A Shadowy Planet's "Dim The Lights, Chill The
Ham" CD and was duly impressed. I was, however, slightly disappointed to
see (hear?) that the KitH theme wasn't on this album. But perhaps that
means there's ANOTHER SMoaSP album? If so, anybody know which one?

I just got "Sport Fishin'" and it's pretty damn good. Doesn't include
the kith theme song, but does have such charmers as "Fortune Tellin'
Chicken". Heartily recommended.

I guess that means they have at least three albums out...

No doubt! And the best since SCTV! What is it about Canadians that makes
them so incredibly funny? Something genetic? The long winters? I
dunno...

The song is called "Having an Average Weekend" and is found on their
album "Savvy Show Stoppers". If you get the chance, see them live ---
it's a lot of fun!
