We are happy to report that Best Brains, Inc. has extended its contract with

And here's is our best information about which episodes you will see this year:

The following episodes did not air at all in 2000 or 2001, and may be assumed
to be gone for good.

806- THE UNDEAD
807- TERROR FROM THE YEAR 5000
808- THE SHE CREATURE
809- I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF
812- THE INCREDIBLY STRANGE CREATURES WHO STOPPED LIVING AND BECAME MIXED-UP
ZOMBIES
813- JACK FROST
815- AGENT FOR H.A.R.M.
909- GORGO
1005- BLOOD WATERS OF DR. Z

The following episodes last aired in 2000 (the month they appeared the final
time follows each title). It's safe to say they are also gone for good.

801- REVENGE OF THE CREATURE (April ’00)
802- THE LEECH WOMAN (April ’00)
814- RIDING WITH DEATH (April ’00)
901- THE PROJECTED MAN (April ’00)
906- THE SPACE CHILDREN (with short: CENTURY 21 CALLING) (April ’00)
803- THE MOLE PEOPLE (June ’00)
804- THE DEADLY MANTIS (June ’00)
805- THE THING THAT COULDN'T DIE (June ’00)

These titles (which have not aired since the date shown) are probably also
gone, but they did air in 2001, so it's possible they may show up again.

905- THE DEADLY BEES (Jan. 01)
904- WEREWOLF (Jan. ’01)
903- PUMA MAN (Feb. ’01)
818- DEVIL DOLL (June ’01)
817- HORROR OF PARTY BEACH (June ’01)

All these episodes have aired since September, or are slated to air in upcoming
months, and may be considered current.

810- THE GIANT SPIDER INVASION
811- "PARTS": THE CLONUS HORROR
816- PRINCE OF SPACE
819- INVASION OF THE NEPTUNE MEN
820- SPACE MUTINY
821- TIME CHASERS
822- OVERDRAWN AT THE MEMORY BANK
902- PHANTOM PLANET
907- HOBGOBLINS
908- THE TOUCH OF SATAN
910- THE FINAL SACRIFICE
911- DEVIL FISH
912- THE SCREAMING SKULL (with short: ROBOT RUMPUS)
913- QUEST OF THE DELTA KNIGHTS
1001- SOULTAKER
1002- THE GIRL IN GOLD BOOTS
1003- MERLIN'S SHOP OF MYSTICAL WONDERS
1004- FUTURE WAR
1006- BOGGY CREEK II
1007- TRACK OF THE MOON BEAST
1008- FINAL JUSTICE
1009- HAMLET
1010- IT LIVES BY NIGHT
1011- HORRORS OF SPIDER ISLAND
1012- SQUIRM with short: A CASE OF SPRING FEVER
1013- DIABOLIK

Enjoy!

(much stuff snipped)

While I'm certainly pleased with the extension, I'm going to jinx it all by
asking a simple question. Namely, why did Sci-Fi extend the contract? Here are
some possible reasons.

- A deal with George Foreman to run two hours worth of infomercials on his grill
fell through.
- It would take Roger Corman one day longer than his three day contract to produce
a new series. "Black Scorpion 2: Electric Boogaloo" anyone?
- "Lexx: The Saturday Morning Cartoon Series" never got past the censor.
- The price for extending the contract consisted of three pennies, some pocket
lint, a garbage bag twistie, a receipt from Taco Bell, and whatever else was in
their pockets at the time.
- Someone at Sci-Fi thought to him or her self, "Hmmm, this Mystery Science show is
pretty good. Or, at least a lot better than most of the other stuff we run."

Oh well
Ken

Great news! I just hope you'll be wrong about some of your
predictions, since nearly all the shows I haven't seen are
in your 'not likely to air again' lists. :-)

Simple. It doesn't cost them a cent, and it gets better ratings in its time
slot than infomercials.

Sampo (not really complicated)

Exactly. I've been looking over my list of the ones I missed while my cable
company wouldn't carry SciFi and I don't get it.

It can't be by season since I've never seen "Blood Waters of Dr. Z" (Season 10)
while every other one in that season has been repeated over and over again.
Same with "Gorgo" and others.

Is anyone at SciFi or Best Brains taking suggestions?

I suppose we could petition SF to bring back these episodes (some of which
are often listed as all-time faves), but I suspect they don't show them
because they can't without shelling out more money to reacquire rights, and
why do that when you can show "Space Mutiny" for the 14th time?

Fortunately, Space Mutiny is one of _my_ faves.

Some day, I'm going to invent a time machine and go back and kick myself in
the shins when I decided not to keep tapes of all the episodes in the Comedy
Central days. I figgered something this good would be re-run in perpetuity.
Silly me. Of course, knowing my luck, I'd probably indirectly cause Rick
Sloan to make "Hobgoblins 2".

Re: Another year. - Even if you have all of your favorite episodes on
tape, the broadcasts keep the communal experience alive. And, it should
help to keep the boards active for the duration. - One big cheer for
another year!
