I am instituting a new award at The Millenium Project. It will be
called the "Toddy" in honour of Todd Gastaldo DC and will be granted
for the Unhinged Lunatic Rant of the Week. (It says "week", but it
will actually be whenever I feel like it.)

In order to give the rest of us a chance to win sometimes, Dr Gastaldo
himself will only be eligible to win one award per month.

Suggestions and nominations are always welcome. I can't read all this
stuff myself.

Well, well. Aren't you a pompous ass! (Hey, there's an idea for an award!
Tell you what, you can be the first recipient of the "lifetime achievement"
honor...) Ya know, some of us are perfectly capable of reading/hearing
"information" and analyzing/weighing it for ourselves. You apparently believe
it's necessary for *someone*, or some group (think gubment flunkies) to tell us
THE (your) TRUTH. Do you not see how utterly arrogant this is? Why not just
say what you obviously think: "Hey, you dumbsh*ts, let me--who hears all, sees
all, and knows all--direct your thoughts and opinions, 'cause you're nothin'
but morons." Put your "award" where the sun don't shine, mister.

Maybe not Peter. Have you seen his web site? There is no
substance to it, or to any of his posts that I have seen.
Just mindless name-calling.

Actually, awards for kookery are a fairly well-established type of
recreation on and off the net, and they are a recognized form of Usenet
Performance Art. However, they are probably best awarded on
alt.usenet.kooks, sci.skeptic, and related fora, as crossposted
kook-baiting tends to result in flamewars that detract from other
newsgroups.

I *will* object, however, if the NEA starts awarding grants for such
activity. :-)
