Attention all blues, bluegrass, old-timey, Cajun, Zydeco, ragtime, jug
band, skiffle, Sacred Harp, Gospel, Appalachian, Ozark, western swing,
cowboy, Celtic, Calypso, slack key, Dust Bowl, sea chantey, ranchilla,
jibaro, and other TRADITIONAL musicians!

The New York Pinewoods Folk Music Club cordially invites you to
participate in our monthly traditional music open microphone, held the
third Wednesday of each month.

Help us kick off our second season at this location on Wednesday,
September 19, 2001.

Venue:

The Triad Bar & Lounge
158 West 72nd Street, near Broadway
New York City.

Sessions run from 7:00 to 9:45 PM and begin PROMPTLY! Sign-up starts
at 6:45 PM. Ask for David Kleiman.

Admission is $5. Purchase of 2 drinks is required if you sit in the
lounge area. Everyone must pay, performer or not. Space includes a
stage, a sound system, wait staff, and a bartender. Stage time: 2
songs or 8 minutes, whichever come first. If you are not one of the
first 15 to sign up, you get to do only 1 song or 4 minutes, so get
there on time!

While we bill this as a traditional music open microphone, please feel
free to perform whatever music you wish to do, including contemporary
singer-songwriter material. We are very accepting. However, this is a
place where traditional musicians are both welcome and appreciated. It
is also a place where the audience is both attentive and supportive.
You can try out new songs, new riffs, new licks, even new instruments,
in a completely non-threatening environment. Or you can just strut
your stuff and wow us with what you got.

See you there!
