If it is intolerance that the Boy Scouts are guilty of, then almighty God is
guilty of the same thing. He wont allow practicing homosexuals to inherit
His Kingdom. He won't let them into heaven. And He never will condone their
aberrant behavior. Why? Because homosexuality is a sin. God simply refuses
to tolerate any practicing, unrepentant sinner to abide in His Holy
Presence. God isn't saying, "Let's make a deal." He's saying "This IS the
deal. Abide by it or perish."
Is that intolerance? Then God's guilty. But that kind of guilt is in
accordance with righteousness and truth.
Homosexuality originated when mankind decided to reject God and go their own
way. (Romans 1:21-32) Homosexuality was born in sin and continues in sin.
But God is ever merciful. He has promised to provide a way of escape for all
practicing homosexuals who come to Him for help. (1 Corinthians 10:13; 1
Corinthians 6:9-11) They can find deliverance and restoration through the
power made available in Christ Jesus.

Why does ANYBODY want to go there, and be the same loser for all
eternity they were on Earth?

Of course it's intolerance, lackwit.
Intolerant -
Not tolerant, esp. of views, beliefs, or behaviour differing from one's own.
Let's see; a man is sent to Hell for eternity because his tastes don't pertain
to muliebrity. No "God" could exist and be that apathetic. I pity you.

My first exposure to homosexuality was in the Boy Scouts! One night
when we were stripped naked and lined up for our evening shower, we
had to walk by two gorgeous teenage dudes (I was only 11, a cub scout
then) standing in a shower stall, who were jacking each other off,
moaning with pleasure. I was so stunned, the scout master had to shove
me along, to the showers. They had such huge, lovely hard-ons, that
the image was seared into my retinas for time immemorial.
These two buffed urchins were not reprimanded, but were allowed to
"carry on".

Since when did the bible teach us anything worthwhile? Sure there are
a few generic messages of love in it but aside from that it's a book
of hatred, and silliness. For the infallable word of "God" it's quite
inconsistant as well--let's just take one key event critical to
Christian faith (the events of Easter morning--the supposed
resurrection of Jesus)--and compare the account 4 witnesses, all
supposedly divinely inspired--gave:
When the sun was coming up (Matt. 28:1) while it was still dark (John
20:1), Mary Magdalene (John 20:1) or Mary Magdalene and the other Mary
(Matt 28:1) or "the women" [note the plural] (Luke 24:1) went to the
tomb. There was an earthquake, and an angel came down and rolled the
stone away (Matt. 28:2) from the entrance of the tomb and sat on it,
even though it had apparently already been rolled away when Mary
Magdalene had got there (John 20:1, Mark 16:4, Luke 24:2). The reason
for the visit was to anoint the body with spices (Mark 16:1, Luke
24:1) or just to look at the tomb (Matt. 28:1), take your pick.
When she or they, take your pick, arrived, she/they witnessed the
earthquake and angel coming down from heaven (Matt. 28:1), or they
walked into the tomb to discover a young man dressed in white sitting
on the right (Mark 16:5) or two men in bright shining clothes (Luke
24:4), take your pick.
At this point, John says that Mary had run back to fetch Peter and
another disciple. The other gospel writers make no mention of Mary
taking leave of the tomb to go back and get any of the men at this
point.
If/when she/they returned, the angel (Mark 15:6) or the angels (Luke
24:5) is quoted by the gospel writers as having said one of three
things. Either "He is not here, he is raised, just as he said." (Matt.
28:6) or "He is not here, he has been raised." (Mark 15:6, Luke 24:6)
or "Woman, why are you crying?" (John 20:13).
So the woman or women ran from the tomb to tell the disciples (Matt.
28:8) or they left, too terrified to say anything to anyone (Mark
16:8), take your pick.
Mary Magdalene saw Jesus appear to her and decided he'd been
resurrected (John 20:14-18). Or the women, having left the tomb and
thinking things over, was sure that Jesus' body had been stolen, so
they tried to bribe the soldiers guarding the tomb to tell them where
the body had been taken (Matt. 28:11-15).
I'm sorry, but at this point, the stories diverge so completely, it is
not possible to correlate them any further. By now, you get the point.
There are just too many glaring inconsistencies here, most of which
are mutually exclusive without some really implausible apologetics. So
much so that it's ludicrous to claim that the four accounts are all
true. As you've seen, they can't possibly be.
Furthermore there's the plain ridiculousness of the story of Adam and
Eve in which god makes the first man and woman (the woman comes as the
man's ideal companion after the all-knowing god tries several
animals--the idea of two men or two women in love is apparantly evil
so i guess beastiality is perfectly ok--after that god sets forth the
rules we all know too well, lets this satan serpent tempt eve who then
tempts adam (blame it on the woman of course--we should only expect
sexism from a religion that also promotes or has promoted slavery,
racism, nationalism, religious persecution and homophobia)--then god
condemns all of mankind for their sin (including ppl not yet born who
had nothing to do with it). god's got a real compassionate plan to
save mankind from his own cosmic temper tantrum--he'll send his only
son down and kill him, maybe after that he'll be able to forgive
mankind, provided they worship his dead son of course. of course this
might take a few thousand years, so in the meantime the random
slaughter of goats and oxen should do just fine. Then there are
lovely tricks like the arc of the covenant--which apparantly contains
god's word and should never be touched except by those making it, and
includes carvings of several angels (this same god later goes on to
condemn icons)--one day god knocks the thing over and someone catches
it and is killed for touching it, who knows who could have died if
they let it fall and break! Yeah, the Christian "God" is so fucking
compassionate and wise I'm on my knees right now..
If you want to get a real sense of the inconsistencies in the
narrative of the four gospels, start with the trial of Jesus, and
compare the accounts in the gospels side by side, reading the account
of each incident in the narrative in each gospel before going on to
the next incident in the narrative. It will quickly become obvious
just how inconsistent the Bible really is.
We can't possibly trust a faith based on such inconsistant and hateful
garbage. If Deity was so full of hatred and bigotry, we'd all be dead
by now.
There are numerous religions which, while differing in points of view,
are true studies of true divinity and real guidance inlove for people
and numerous secular philosophies that, while they do not believe in
the divine, still provide guidance for people who seek to lead
balanced lives. False gods such as the Christian god or his opponent
satan (treated as a god in all but name) simply have no place in an
enlightened, sane society.
Abandon the Christian lie and either worship the gods as the truly
manifest themselves in a religion that speaks some sense (be it one of
the many Neopagan faiths, Buddhism, Taoism, Hinduism, or whatever) or
dedicate yourself to whatever other path/philosophy you agree with (be
it humanism, atheism, anosticism, etc). Almost any alternative makes
more sense than Christianity--oh, that dead guy still hasn't come back
and his "holy land" is probably the bloodiest, most violent place on
earth, go figure--I guess that's what happens when people worship the
personification of hatred and selfishness.

Sorry if I offended any decent Christians--my comments were directed
toward the "Jesus" offered by the fundamentalist flamer. Since a god
is a personification of the divine, there are several gods named Jesus
and the one I was referring to was the one who insists the bible as an
infallable book and supports the notion of sin and condemnation for
all who don't immediately worship him. The Gnostic Jesus, from what I
have read, is quite different and I certainly respect and admire THAT
Jesus--but then that Jesus didn't make any ofl the rantings that I
attacked and instead falls into that category of gods that "speak some
common sense" (which includes basically all gods except the ones
fundamentalists care to throw at us)--and thus is certainly not
"guilty" of anything. Sorry for the confusion and generalization.
we go hither, gayly forward.
