NTK and IIci

no one has tried it because it would be too slow. Has anyone tried
running NTK on a IIci?

No, I haven't tried it, but I've been running NTK on a powerbook 170 for 5 months
now. Yes, it is a little slow. I feel like I'm running it on a Plus. But, it
isn't so slow that I feel the need to go right out and buy a faster computer.

Yes, betcha a beer that it will work as well for you as for the rest
of us. Better in fact--I have used it on a Powerbook 140 and it works
there, your IIci is faster.
Remember to set your memory to 32-bits, but go for it!

Funny you should ask! I am, and just today I started looking into buying
more memory for my poor little machine. When I run NTK I can't run very
much else. There's no denying that it's slow. Also, I have not been able to
use the NTK Download Package command successfully. I have to use the Newton
Connection to do that. I'm not sure if this is a problem specific to the IIci.
I'll have to try it out on my Quadra.

I haven't run NTK on a IIci, but I am running it on a IIcx, which I believe is
essentially a 16 MHz version of the IIci (which is 25 MHz). It runs extremely
slow, but it is the only Mac I have, so it gets the job done.

A IIci is what I use (I've been using it for NTK since last September), and
it works great. Could be a little faster, but it's really not that bad (I
used a Centris 610 for a while, and it really didn't seem all that much
better).
