There is a strong likelihood that "W" will be our next president. Why?
Because those who hate Hellene people more than Hitler, who would have
normally voted Democrat, will instead make a unanimous clamor for George
W. Bush.
This is no silly game here, folks. I am *not deluded. He who speaks
through me is truly Jesus of Nazareth. It is he who directs my hands as
they move across the keyboard. Our Good Lord (who is true-blue 100%
thracian) wants me to tell our Family that we only have a 2-month window
of opportunity, in which to escape the clutches of Bush's proclamation
that all known and suspected homosexuals must be removed from the spaces
in which "decent hetero folk" dwell.
Say what? That's everywhere, dudes & dudettes! Soon, the "cc" in your
e-mail may be a new postal code to separate "concentration camp" mail
from the larger society. So what to do? What to do?
Come to Northern California, and I will protect all my Hellenic sisters
and brothers within these borders: to the southern boundary of Santa
Cruz County (and eastward on the same lattitude), bounded by the Pacific
Ocean on the west, north boundary abutting Oregon (as it has been for
quite some time), and the eastern boundary shall end either at the
border of Nevada, or considerably much further east, as the situation
may deem.

Tell me something I don't know! However, don't try to tell me that the
Wiccan/Shaman/Pagan cultures are free of homophobia and heterocentrism!
But of course, your people are likewise endangered by the likes of Bush
and the Religious Reich. However, when push comes to shove in every
previous extermination, most of your threatened groups also condemned
gay people (including those within their groups), in hopes of protecting
their own skins.
So the persecution of gay people throughout history has always been
carried out by the tacit approval of so-called "alternative"
subcultures, not just by the mainstream bigots (who are only the tip of
the homophobic iceberg).
Gay hatred is the most widespread bigotry in the world; it is almost a

For the most part, sexuality is a personal thing.
You don't go around grilling hetro folk to see if they are homophobes.
Most Pagans are fairly open minded when it comes to sexual orientation.
& for those who are uncomfortable with homosexuality, making & having
friends with that sexual orientation quickly gets them over it.
Most pagans are people very interested in developing the self...
Learning to confront fear & overcoming it.
Homophobia just that. A fear.
Tossing someone out because of their fears will not help that person
overcome them. It will only strengthen the fear with resentment.
Helping that person overcome their fear & prejudice is better.
It breaks the chain of hate.
But you are not interested in breaking the chain of hate.

HOW I ACQUIRED THE CLOAK OF INVISIBILITY,
AND THE FIRST THING I DID WITH IT

Actually, I'm not really sure HOW I acquired the damn Cloak,
but it must have been a reward for one of my Odyssey
adventures, which the gods have deemed to erase from my memory
until a future time. I believe it was woven from Ariadne's
thread tossed aside in a forgotten ball, once Theseus made his
escape from the Labyrinth. But who wove it, and who gave it
the power to make one invisible? And who presented it to me,
and for what accomplishment? Alas, these truths remain hidden
to me for a while longer...thus I must proceed with my tale
without the benefit of any history. (Perhaps it was my spill
in the river Lethe, battling some sort of beast or another,
that washed away these memories.)
The Cloak itself is velvet black, with a honey shimmer to
it...as if a lock of the Golden Fleece were woven into its
threads. It BELONGS to me...it KNOWS it belongs to me...as
whenever I fling it about myself, it knows how to fall upon my
body in only the most artful and graceful manner. It
complements, it embraces, it cherishes me with kind caresses,
and never clings! Yet it slides off with not a moment of
pause--once I release my grasp--and falls graciously to the
floor with a pleasant "whoosh". Neither static-y nor cling-y,
no dirt or dust ever gathers upon it...for which I conclude
the unknown existence of some Polyester-blend goddess (perhaps

painted eggshell white and trimmed in gold, are so sturdy not
even Hephaestus's thunderbolts could batter them down. "Let
me show you the bedroom where Apollo and Zeus do the nasty",
Eros leads me down a long, long hallway until we reach a room
whose door he pushes ajar. I hesitate.
"Go right in, no one's home. I'm right behind you" whispers
Eros, nudging me through the entrance. We stand amid silken
tapestry and drapes of purest white, purple, and gray that
grace tall windows and an oversized bed against the far end of
the room. Rose-scented candles in sconces and on small tables
lend a soft, gentle light to the entire room. Eros guides me
into a closet large enough to fit a banquet table and all its
guests. "You can hide here, in their wardrobe," speaks Eros.
"That, plus your Cloak to shield you, will make you completely
secure from their finding you."
I am about to ask some pertinent questions--such as how long
do they partake in their love making (knowing that a single
minute to a god is a century to a human, and that I could
easily starve to death, or grow old and die in this closet,
long before they're even done with foreplay...thus you can
understand my concern)--when Eros suddenly jumps back, says "I
hear them coming"...then quick as a flash disappears.
I am left standing amid all the masculine trappings of war
gods: the musky scent of leather and rough cloth soaked in
godly sweat nearly puts me into a heavenly swoon! But I stand
determined to witness what no mortal eyes have ever witnessed
before: Zeus boinking the daylights out of Apollo! (Or is Zeus
a bottom? Or are they more egalitarian in bed, than elsewhere?
Do they like to french kiss? How much foreplay? Or are they
rough and ready from the get-go? These juicy details, and much
more, I am soon to find out!)
I hear voices and the door creak open, then shut. The Cloak of
Invisibility is fully flung over my frame as I stand, shaking,
knees wobbling, in anticipation of my daring plunder into the
most personal aspect of the lives of gods! A deep voice booms:
"I don't remember leaving the door open, do you? Is anyone
here?" I stand, frozen, barely breathing. "Check the closet."
Arms push around the voluminous robes sliding on their
hangers, but fortunately pass right by the spot on which I
stand. I cannot see who it is: Apollo or Zeus? Not that I
can't see through my Cloak (of course I can), but the clothes
shielding me that cover the Cloak block my view! Drat! I need
to move a little forward...well, let's wait till they calm
down and get to bed.
"Uh, hey stud...lock that door will ya. I think we should, uh,
mess around for a time. Don't you?" I hear them disrobe: the
gentle "shush" of togas falling, and the rattle of buckles.
Again, one (I can't see who) approaches the closet and plunks
a heavy sword against the wall...it slides and crashes right
onto my foot! Ouch! I better hold my breathe! Ouch! Damn
friggin' sword...must weigh as much as a horse...my foot is
throbbing, god, this ain't so much fun any more! Egads! Ouch,
ouch ouch!
I can't help myself; a moan wells up from my throat.
"Wait! Did you hear that?"
"What? Who could hear anything after that sword crashing? No,
I didn't hear anything."
"Well, I heard something, and it came from that closet!"
"And just what do you think you heard, little missy?"
(Little missy? One of them's a fem? I can't believe this!
Wait'll I get my book published! Uh-oh, he's coming back to
the closet!)
"Huh, maybe it was just an echo." Arms swoosh through the
clothing once more, and I stand frozen in fear. "Wait, what's
this?"
"What's what? Lemme see what you're talking about."
I still can't see either one of the gods, though their very
breaths warm the cloak under which I tremble.
"Okay, whoever you are, come out of there now...we see you!"
(They do? I don't believe them, they're calling my bluff.
After all, no one's grabbing at me.)
"We can see your FEET, fool! Look!"
(I look down and lo and behold! The Cloak of Invisibility
hangs its hem just inches above my toes. I am not completely
covered! I sigh, and drop the Cloak, and all pretense...and
step out from behind the wardrobe, to see...not gods, but
goddesses! A pair of uber-dykes! What the hell is this
all about?)
"Who are you?" the busty redhead wrapped in a sheet demands.
"Ezekiel." I say. "Uhhh...Ezekiel Joseph Krahlin, madame."
"Madame? You call the great goddess of the sacred hunt,
Artemis, 'madame'? Just where do you come from, little
Ezekiel?" speaks the other, a voluptuous nymph of seaweed hair
and piercing green eyes.
"Ummm...San Francisco, planet earth...that is, in my waking
life. At present, I presume I'm in one of my vision dreams."
"One of YOUR vision dreams? Ha!" mocks Artemis, "Tell us who
put you up to this or I'll flay your skin and feed it to the
Harpies!"
I'm not about to reveal my source...not when I'd have the
wrath of yet another god upon my soul. So I just stand there,
trembling, but lips firmly shut.
"Eros, eh? I should have known! That little imp is always
messing up Mt. Olympus whenever he gets the chance!"
Too bad, they can read my mind. ("He told me this is the
bedroom of Zeus and Apollo," I plead.)
"THAT's your excuse, mangy mortal?" hollers Artemis. "You were
going to SPY on gods? This mounts to hubris of the highest
order. I hope you realize the consequences of your heinous
act!"
"Ummm...being chained to a boulder and having a vulture pluck
out my liver for all eternity?" I venture a guess.
Then Artemis, taken aback, first glances at the nymph, then at
me, than again at her nymph...and they both burst out in
laughter. "Come here, Ezekiel", Artemis gently takes my arm,
and leads me to a chair where she urges me to sit.
"No harm shall come to you, mischievous mortal. It is Eros who
should take the blame. I have a plan for vengeance, but it will
take me some minutes to work it out. Please enjoy Sylvia's
company in the meantime...I'll be back shortly." And with a
wide grin on her beatific face, Artemis departs.
Sylvia and I have a heartfelt conversation about the homeless
lesser gods in Olympus, and what can possibly be done about
it...until finally, after the passage of a little time, Artemis
returns. "Boy have I got a treat for you, Ezekiel!" And she
tugs my arm in a wish to escort me to parts yet unknown.
Artemis, Sylvia, and I (carried in Sylvia's strong arms, due
to my injured foot) proceed down enormous corridors, to yet
another heavy wooden door, through which we enter. There, tied
by his four limbs to the posts of a water bed, kneels Eros on
all fours, his nether end most prominent. Sylvia sets me on
the floor, where I stand, staring in disbelief; I do drool.
"He's all yours for the next twenty minutes, Ezekiel. I'm
sure you'll know what to do!" says Artemis; and they depart.
And I do indeed...for twenty of the most beautiful minutes of
my life, in sheer Tantric bliss! And this experience has
shown me why, when spelled backwards, Eros means "sore"! So
this ends the story of my winning the Cloak of Invisibility,
how I first used it, and how I lost it in the heat of the
moment, before I ever got to use it more than once.
ADDENDUM:
Were those succulent twenty minutes, the minutes of a god, or
of a mortal? I leave you to ponder, and eat your heart out.

Why is that?
*Bisexual* people have been slandered left right and center about how they
are just closet homosexual or can't pick a team etc.. They get frowned on
by hetero and homosexual alike.
No one has to have a label. The crime is in telling someone who to love

your job or your home from you due to who you love.

We've seen it all before, Christian-haters, black-haters, jew-haters,
men-haters, hetero-haters. One good point for this newsgroup, I've never
encountered an acclaimed Wiccan here whom I could ever detect even a hint
of bigotry against gay people. And yes, the subject has been brought up
and discussed more than once...this is something I can say most people
here agree most fervently on, intolerance of homosexuals is considered
quite unacceptable by this net community.
There are, of course, a small handful of people who are bigots....but they
are not held in high regard, nor are they Wiccans.

Dear Editor:
Here is my burning response to Andrew Murray's letter,
"Stop Burning Flags," (S.F. Sentinel, October 12):
Andrew: The United States of America has always been a
violently homophobic society...where even murder is justified
in the name of God and the law. (Homophobia, plain and
simple, is a virulent form of madness.) Burning the flag is a
form of peaceful demonstration, to express the failure of our
society to end its barbaric cruelty towards those citizens who
choose to love partners of the same sex. What if someone
murdered your girlfriend, and the courts did not prosecute the
criminal? And you were helpless to do anything, except burn
her/his pictures in the newspapers? Well, what better
"picture" for gays to burn, than the American flag...for it
represents not just one murderer, but millions!
Big deal, so they burned a flag...it is only a symbol,
not a human being. Lesbians and gays are trying every way
possible to defend our rights in non-violent ways. But if
pushed into a corner, with violent retaliation the only means
of saving one's life, then of course violence is dictated as
the final resort. This is a basic natural law...and human
beings are no exception.
You made it quite clear that you are "straight," in the
opening line of your letter (quote): "As I scootered home
from work last (Saturday) night, I stopped to see my
girlfriend in the Castro and heard about the previous night's
gestapo action...etc."
Well, I have noticed a new wave of "heteros" proclaiming
support of lesbians/gays, and claiming to lay down their
lives, if necessary, to defend us. Yet when getting close to
some of these people, I discover very bigoted, violent
viewpoints towards homosexuals and other persecuted groups.
This includes the new influx of hustlers, who claim to be
powerfully pro-gay (and potential partners), in order to win
the trust of their victims.
Andrew, you really seem to have no genuine feelings of
compassion towards the homophile community, for you
immediately jumped to the other side of the fence, just
because you witnessed some protestors burning a piece of
cloth--which symbols you revere far more than human souls.
Your letter merely perpetuates homophobia, for it encourages
further outrage against our struggling lesbian/gay
community...all in the name of "Old Glory" (or should I say
"Old Gory").
The attempt to criminalize the burning of our nation's
flag is supported by those groups most hateful of
homosexuality: Christian fundamentalists, Nazis, and
Right-wing Republicans (to name a few...all of which are
interconnected one way or another). In a very sick kind of
way, Andrew, you perpetuate a time-dishonored tradition of the
land of the "free."
I don't like you one bit, Andrew; and I hope never to
meet you. I feel so sorry for your girlfriend, for I'm sure
she is a victim of whatever other bigotry you espouse...and
may God help any children you breed as a result of your
pathetic need to prove yourself a "man."
I encourage all truly pro-lesbian/gay supporters to wear
a well-burnt American flag somewhere on their jackets and
shirts...as I have started doing today. We strive towards
true democracy, an ideal which has yet to fulfill itself...but
which, I believe, will be achieved in the 1990's, by the
revolutionary actions of a more-united, burgeoning lesbian/gay
community, in conjunction with American Indians, Blacks, The
Homeless, and other long-suffering minorities.
As a final note, I want to express deepest gratitude to
those heterosexuals who really do care about lesbians and
gays, and put their words to action.

If I'm a slave to anything, it's a slave to Love. You are quite correct,
however: it is my intent to convert all Pagans to Christianity. But, by
the same token, I shall convert all Christians to Paganism. You only got
it half right. The Angels have shown to me, that I am already
victorious.
As for myth & symbol: I adore the beauty of all religions and
worldviews, including atheism and other non-God system. I want a new
religion, and a new church, to celebrate this splendrous diversity: The
Courageous Story of Humanity.
Indeed, my major foucs is on Christianity, as in my country, there is a
dire need to defuse the homophobia which overwhelms it...thus, I do
focuse on reinterpreting Christian myth for gay folks. I expect others,

I hereby declare war against the United States
Government, and to all its people who support the federal
sanction against same-sex marriage... which may be a majority.
The moment government permits any state to officially and
intentionally deny a gay citizen's right to the pursuit of
happiness--as indeed marriage is a blissful goal--the door is
open to establishing all homophile women and men as second
class citizens in perpetuity.
I perceive this unconstitutional, ungodly sanction as the
first step towards eradicating all known homosexuals in our
sorry nation. The bombing of the Lesbian lounge in Atlanta is
just the beginning...unless the federal government and
mainstream Christian churches--including African-American
congregations--immediately step in and aggressively fight back
against the jihad these homophobes have declared. (I'm not
holding my breath.) Their continued silence and foot-dragging
on the noble issue of same-sex-lover rights, puts blood on
their hands as surely as if they were right-wing fanatics
themselves!
I urge all lesbians, gays, bisexuals, gender changers,
their supporters, and other so-called queer types to bear arms
and take to the streets...and push back the beast of
homophobia that now rears its ugly head in the eyes of the
majority, who prowl this gutted country like ghouls from The
Night Of The Living Dead. For all intent purposes, President
Clinton has nodded his head in approval of a nationwide witch
hunt to kill us anywhere and everywhere we are seen or known
to abide...or at best to deny us jobs, shelter, friendship,
and equal treatment. Our President's wavering on the "gays in
the military" issue, along with the signing of DOMA...places
him in direct responsibility for exacerbating the hostility
against a basically harmless, and decent, group of citizens:
gay women and men.
Likewise for our so-called "liberal" straight
friends...who are too cowardly to display a pink triangle on
their own clothing, or a T-shirt or bumper sticker
proclaiming: "Another Hetero for Lesbian & Gay Rights". Yet
they proudly wear slogans and icons promoting the rights of
African-Americans, women, children, trees, animals, and so on.
The Danes in World War II sported stars of David to conceal
Jewish folk from Nazis...but I hear of none who displayed the
pink triangle.
If you are heterosexual, and perceive yourself as a true
"progressive", then you would have no qualms in taking up this
noble banner of Homophile Liberation in the ways I have
suggested...else you, too, have blood on your hands. But if
heteros at large still refuse to see this as their fight,
too...we homosexuals can flood the straight bars, clubs, and
other hetero hangouts. Our presence, with pink triangles
emblazoned on our shirts and jackets, will turn these straight
clubs into targets of the Army of God and their ilk. Then, of
course, we'll have a lot more allies in the resistance--albeit
unwilling.
Be it known that I am proudly homosexual, that I am a
Christian who respects all other beliefs as equal, that I
presently go by the name Ezekiel Krahlin (formerly Gene
Catalano). Be it also known that I propose the new label
"Thracian" over "gay male," to symbolize the new-found
empowerment of the homophile community in this century's
closing decade. The word "gay" perpetuates a stereotype of
ourselves as flighty, emotional, and frivolous...not to be
taken seriously, as a citizen, as a human being, or as
anything else! (Surely, women have a similar complaint
against male chauvanists.)
"Lesbian" is a beautiful term for the homosexual female;
as its name comes from a Greek Island with a rich, classical
history. The region of Thrace also has a great history, and
likewise plays an honored role in Hellenic culture...hence I
coin the term "Thracian" for those who are commonly thought of
as "gay male". Ancient Greeks first called their northern
neighbors "Thracians," and later, "Macedonians"...the people
from whom arose Alexander The Great. "Hellenic" can be the
general term for both homophile women and men, who are sick of
the belittling and ineffectual descriptor, "gay". This caps a
nice balance on the other two Greek words, to form an elegant
triad: Hellenic, Lesbian, Thracian. It also does away with
the chauvanistic stance of using "Gay" to represent both male
and female members, as well as males only. (Credit for the
idea of "Hellenic" to replace "Gay" goes to Fireweaver, an
Internet friend.)
Heterosexism, chauvinism, misogyny, mysandry, homophobia,
pedophilia, racism, and bestiality are all blasphemies in God's
eyes, and in mine, and in the eyes of all good people. Under this
inspiration, I declare Northern California a safe haven, and
demand protection by the United Nations Global Peacekeepers. I
also call for the secession of this region, and its establishment as a
government solely for and by Hellenes...where all beliefs are to be
equally respected. Let this new nation be named "Athenia," to
honor woman's suffrage as well as symbolize wisdom and valor. As
a body politik, we are as the victorious David against Goliath: the
giant of homophobia shall be toppled and slain in our time.
Let it also be known that not every gay person is a
friend. Like any group of human beings, they have their ranks
of evil forces. True hearts are few and far between...love
and be constant to such friends--if indeed you have even
one--for you are well blessed. For wherever there are two
kindred hearts, there Your Angel will be also, in spirit. Do
not judge any person by any category (such as gay or hetero,
Jew or Christian, ugly or handsome, poor or rich, white or
black, etc.) But do judge her by what comes from the heart, as
expressed in words and deeds.
Civilization (for what it's worth) is about to go
berserk; the capitalist world as we know it is doomed. I
trust that those whom I can reach through this letter, already
are taking action. If you are wicked (homophobic), it is not
yet too late to change. I stand by you in prayer, and hope
you will join the valorous. For until the last enemy is fallen, it
is my duty to fight for every lost soul until the final moment.
Yes, I pray most ardently for the lost, not for the risen.
In closing, I humbly attempt to give solace to my
Hellenic sisters and brothers, with this quote from Psalm 35
(1-8):

Quite correct. Again, thanks. I have seen a pagan group's website that
proclaimed it to be a "Family Values" site. Of course, no representation
could be found, of any pro-gay material. I posted to the webmaster,
suggesting they include their own pagan gays in the mix.
Also: Any pagan/wiccan/shaman group that does not willfully include some
dignified gay resources and art in the mix of their own groups, and in
their publications/websites, must answered to this intentional
negligence, as it is every bit as unseemly as outright gay-bashing.
Likewise for any group that does not willfully advertise itself in the
mainstream media--websites, newspapers, radio, television--as being
totally opposed to any sort of homophobia in its ranks. Any groups that
can't afford advertising in such media, can do same by distributing
inexpensive brochures, calling talk shows, and posting to newsgroups.
I reiterate: homophobia is the most vulgar of sins. It is no small
matter; a lot of souls hang in the balance over this. In fact, very soon
many nations and institutions will crumble (and new ones rise) over this
single issue.
