They aren't "going after" PNG. Don't believe alarmist headlines at slashdot.

That's true but only because we saw Apple's IP claim against SVG, realized
that some PNG/MNG applications might infringe on Claim 1 of the patent,
and began collecting prior art, just in case.

IMHO the art that we've collected to date is adequate to overturn the
patent. But I am not a lawyer. SVG developers are welcome to use our
prior art collection if they have any use for it.
