OK, many have tried to help, I've managed to upgrade to V.90 I believe, but
cannot find the download to upgrade to 56k. Please, if possible, give me a
direct link to a downloadable upgrade to 56k for the 33.6k XJ1336. I can find
both 3com and USR but no help.

Well. ,heres some of the lines...

ATI3 TB201, V.90 Modem
ATI5 LAST DIALED #:
ATI5 V.90 Modem NVRAM Settings..
ATI5 Baud=57600 Parity=N Worldlen=8
ATI7 Product ID: CCXJ1560
ATI7 Options V32bis,V.34+, x2,V.90

of course thats just a few. One line also says baud=9600. Does the product ID
change with the upgrade? This modem should be faster than my Vaio 505
internal???

These result strings say that you have successfully upgraded the modem to
all it is capable of.

The CC/XJ1560 models are like the CC/XJ1336 models, but with 56K protocols
added. So the product ID changes (but not the tuples in the card header).
So this is normal behavior.

I have the XJ4336. Are there updates/upgrades for it too? I have had
trouble finding much on the 3Com site on it.

Allright then. Again, thank you for the help. I'll test and see if I get
better results from this than my internal.

Thanks, Peder, looks like I'm stuck at 33.6 max with the 4336. Maybe I'll
get lucky and pick one of the others up.

You have V90 which is 56k. You may have a problem getting your system to
recognize the modem as a 56k however. I had to hack the 3Com .INF file for
the XJ1560 to get my XJ1336 to work at 56k. It works great now. E-mail me
and I'll send you the file.
