Anyone know if there exists a USB based UPS that has software written for
Linux? Doesn't look like APC or Belkin make one. Is there a standard UPS
interface that comes with Linux that would intelligently shut down Linux
when the UPS battery runs out? Windows NT and 2000 comes with this so you're
not stuck if the software doesn't work. Thanks.

This is just a best guess and no guarantees that it will work at all

I have a Belkin serial UPS and am using the downloaded
Unix/Solaris/Linux software for it.
On setup it only asks for the name of the serial port, If you were to
try the USB version and use the serial port software and tell it that
the device was on /dev/ttyUSBxx it might work...... (assuming that you
had the usbserial module loaded)
