Hi,
Just installed authroware 6 on a Win2K PC and program loads OK but then
gives the following error.

"The new file cannot be created because the following error has occurred:
computer memory is full"

The machine has 2GB RDram and I have checked MM site and they refer to
somethign that happens on Macs regarding colours. Have changed screen
resolution and colours but this makes np difference at all. The spec of the
PC is below, can anyone help ?

2GHz P4
2GB RDram 800MHz ECC
128MB Ti4600
Audigy SC
100 GB HD
19" monitor set to 1064 x 864 Tre Colour 32bit
Windows 2000 SP2

Anyone heard of this happening before?

Hi Mart,

I have installed Authorware 6 on my WinXP P.C. and have received the
exact error that you experienced, ("The new file cannot be created
because the following error has occurred: computer memory is full") did
you manage to get this sorted out from your query?

Like You I noticed the advice for the 'Mac', and tried what was
suggested with regard to the screen resolution, to no avail.

Have also tried disabling my anti-virus software, and closing down all
programs running in the background (that my system would allow), checked
virtual memory, the paging file, all to no avail.

I am running a 2GHz Athlon XP, 1GB DDR ram, NVidia G-Force 3 Ti500,
Audigy SC, and 80 GB HD, and set to 32 bit True Colour.

Any assistance from anyone, would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Jim

It is much easier to repent of sins committed
than to repent of those soon to be committed

This is most likely the 2GB memory limit. If the amount of physical memory
installed plus the amount of the virtual memory setting (paging memory) is
greater than 2 GB, Authorware will be unable to open files. As a workaround,
you can reduce the size of your virtual memory swap file so that the total
available is less than 2 GB.

This bug is fixed in the Authorware 6.5 release.
