Now I have uninstalled Delphi 5, and the extensions, *.pas etc., are no
longer associated with Delphi.
When I try to do it manually from the explorer I haven't got the Delphi
application in the list of possible applications.
I'm Running Windows XP family edition, French version.
Is there a way to remedy this without un- and re-installing Delphi and all
my components ?
I have tried repair, without luck.

Jan
the following cumbersome procedure works (at least for me (xphome)):
1) Open explorer
2) Open menu tools\folder options
3) Select file types tab
4) Click new
5) enter extension name
6) Click advanced
7) Select Associated file type <New>
8) Click ok
9) Select the newly created extension in the registered file types list.
10) Click change
11) Select "Select the program from a list"
12) Click ok
13) Click browse
14) Now you can go to the borland folder to select delphi.
15) Click ok
16) Click close
I hope it works for you,

Run regedit and navigate to:
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Applications\Delphi32.exe\shell\Open\Command
The default key is probably pointing to your Delphi 5 Bin directory
rather than your Delphi 7 Bin directory. Changing this should make
Delphi appear in your Open With dialog box and you can then associate it
with the appropriate file extensions.

Steve
