Mostly Harmless -> Mostly to do Harm?

already, but did everyone else get entirely bored with Mostly Harmless? I knew
a couple chapters in that Adams was going to kill everyone off, and from there,
it felt like that was the WHOLE purpose of the book.

At last! Welcome back Douglas! Where have you been? :) And here's me just
finished re-watching the videos and re-listening to the radio series after
trying to convince the university theatre to re-stage their HHGTTG play...
All in a good cause, eh?

Nope, me neither. But then *I* only noticed that a friend of mine wore
glasses after knowing him for seven years, so perhaps I'm not a good judge
of subtleties.
As far as Mostly Harmless goes, I enjoyed it (quite a lot actually) but I
didn't think it was as good as some of the others. Then again I didn't
really enjoy STaTFAtF so I can't say MH was the worst of the series either.
I still think Last Chance To See... is one of the best books I've read, man
that fridge scene had me in stiches. Mr Adams, please go touring again (and
while you're at it, please come and visit all your neglected South African
fans... hell, you can stay with us for as long as you want provided I get to
read over your shoulder :-)

On the subject of killing off characters on M.H. I'd like to say that I was more than
slightly p'd off with Fenchurch "ceasing to exist" I LIKED her. I thought that
the theme of her being a new version of christ "and this time no-one would have to get nailed to anything"
would have been great to expand on in the usual Adams style. I liked the book but
couldn't help but think the sole purpose of it was to end the series rather than
be a book in it's own right. (so speaks the literary expert I don't think)
But anyway, I'll take this opportunity to say:

However, Dirk Gently was amazing!
