Went to Wally World today and found oreos with chocolate and peanut butter
for filling. UMMMM! Now all I need is a good eye candy movie and the
decadence will be complete!

You seriously have GOT to try these. (Yelling intended).

I may never eat another creme filled oreo.

I dunno......I've never understood the "Oreo thing". Will it start WW3 if I
say I can't stand them? :-)))
Eye candy movies, of course, are a different thing!!!

emerald, you need to try Arnott's 'Delta Creams'. They're along the same
lines as Oreos, but the biscuit part is much less dark chocolatey and
the filling isn't as sugary-sweet. The flavour is much more subtle, yet
very addictive. There are exactly sixteen of them in a packet and I
*know* this from experience! ;->

I for one can take or leave oreos. They are too sweet for me, even with
milk. But if you like peanut butter, these will claim you! They seem to
tone down the chocolate cookie taste a bit. The peanut butter is sublime,
and you can just get hints of the chocolate filling - it's not overly sweet.

They were two packages for $4, and a friend and I split the cost - I will be
getting more!

Sorry to follow my own post, but I just had to add this:

Arnott's also makes an Australian icon: the 'Iced VoVo'. It's a flat,
sweet biscuit with scalloped edges and bearing a topping of pink
strawberry icing and a stripe of strawberry jam. The whole lot is then
thickly covered in coconut.

When I was at University, we used to call them 'Iced Volvox'. We thought
that was pretty funny because 'Volvox' is a unicellular orgasm which
lives in drinking water...

(Yeah, I know: 'organism'. I'm still a stinker for undergrad. humour!)

Yes! Arnott's was probably the original biscuit-maker in Australia and
they had their first factory in Lindus Street, Wickham (inner suburb of
Newcastle). Me Mum lived just up the road from them as a teenager and
she drools as she describes the troop of kids who would line up outside
the factory in the mornings, waiting to buy two pennorth (two
pennyworth) of broken biscuits!

In those days, Arnott's only made plain biscuits like 'Wheatmeal' and
'Milk Coffee' and 'Digestives', but later they went on to make 'Fancy
Mix' which was an assortment of spiced, sugared bikkies. These days,
Arnott's biscuits are far beyond my budget, but my favourite 'fix' is
still 'Shredded Wheatmeal'!

I s'pose Tim Tams are OK, but they just don't float my boat... I much
prefer Delta Creams! If you ever see those, try one! You won't be sorry!

Oh, puleeeze let them be seasonal, or I will not be able to keep my girlish,
er mommish, er, never mind, there's no figure left anyway. But I will simply
have to close my eyes passing the cookie isle if they are a mainstay.

You know how it's soooo good to eat peanut butter off of a spoon? These
could be like that for me. I know, guys. It's a girl thing. (Or so DH
tells me, as he looks in horror as I double dip the spoon back in. It
doesn't count for peanut butter, does it? And this from the guy who used to
drink out of the milk carton.)

I eat peanut butter with a spoon (only the crunchy variety) whilst DH does
that thing that Tom Hanks did in Big when he ate caviar (scraping his tongue
with his fingers) - he reckons I'm revolting for eating it at all, let alone
with a spoon. This is from a man who eats cold baked beans straight from the
tin and granules of Smash (dehydrated potato) as if they were crisps!

This made me remember about a dozen years ago when a British musician
acquaintance of ours was doing a US tour and he let slip that he was a
BIG fan of American Jiffy Super-Chunk peanut butter and ate it with a
spoon. We got the word out, and at each gig a fan would bring him a jar.
Eventually he said, "Stop! This stuff is too *heavy* to carry home, and
I can't eat it all!" LOL!

So I guess one *can* have too much of a good thing!

Nope. Not a girl thing. My DH has been known to PB dip, too. Not as
often as my 3 yo DD, but then, no-one PB dips as often as she does...

Interesting note: unlike most American moms, I'm suposed to be *trying*
to fatten my kids up - they're skinny little runts, though healthy. So
the Dr. gives me this list of healthy fatten-up-ers, and it lists:
"Peanut butter on crackers, or celery, or bananas, but do not give
peanut butter alone." Now, why is that, do you suppose?

Did you ever do the Tim Tam Slam, Anna?

Put the TTs in the fridge for a couple of hours - they need to be
REALLY cold and crisp.

Make a big mug of hot chocolate, or coffee (if you drink the awful
stuff, which I don't) or tea. Take a chilled TT, and bite just a
little off each end. Dip one end in the drink, put the other in your
mouth and slurp up the hot drink using the TT as a straw. As soon as
the hot liquid has hit your mouth, pull out the TT and eat it
(quickly, before the chocolate melts - that's all that's holding the
bikkie together).

Sheer bliss - but you'll go through an awful lot of TTs doing it - you
can't stop at one!

Just to hazard a guess........PB on its own is so gooey (especially if you
use the sugar-free stuff) that it can be very difficult to swallow. I
suspect that *having* to chew it with celery or something else allows it to
be moistened and broken up some more, so it's less likely to get stuck.

Ah...that reminds me...it's about time to buy a big plastic barrel of
peppermint sticks for Baltimore's (That's Bawlamer, Merlin, USA, hon...)
traditional peppermint and lemons.

Chill a lemon. Cut off the top and slice an "X" into the center of the
pulp. Insert peppermint stick (the sugar kind that melts on contact with
the juice) and suck lemon juice up through the peppermint stick.
(Warning...you'll need about 4 peppermint sticks to get all the juice
out of the lemon due to breakage and meltage). YUMMmmmmmm...So
refreshing on a hot day!

Never heard of this before I moved here!

As far as I'm concerned, I eat the pb half first so I can cover
up that taste with the chocolate side! The chocolate-filled oreos are
a new favorite with me.

Peanut butter alone, especially for a child, is not recommend because of safety
issues. If someone accidently inhales a glop of peanut butter they can
suffocate. Using the Heimlich Manuever to "pop" the peanut butter out will only
blow a hole through the glop and then it will collapse back on itself closing the
hole. Putting the peanut butter on something crunchy breaks up the peanut butter
and makes it more solid if accidently inhaled and more easily popped out by
coughing or Heimlich Manuever.
