Hello,
is there such a thing as a canonical ordering of Wodehouse's Jeeves
stories / novels? The ones that I've read seem to be chronologically
ordered, but I don't know if that's true in general. Should I simply
track the dates of writing? Does anyone have a list?

Thanks in advance,

That should work.

"Quate", if I may quote. That's a good excuse to post my Wodehouse
list, before I lose track of it. It isn't complete, but it's rather
long, and includes a stab at short story tracking. If anyone wants
to work some more on it and re-post, please go ahead. Here it goes:

--snip--

[C] = Story Collection.
[O] = Omnibus. Includes other books.
aka = Also known by this other title (generally U.S. publication).

As far as I know, the order of the novels is the same as the order of
publication. There is not always a temporal connection between the novels. In re
the short stories, I am a bit dubious. You might also pose this question in
alt.fan.wodehouse.

The Inimitable Jeeves 1923

Thank You, Jeeves 1934
Right Ho, Jeeves 1934

The Code of the Woosters 1938 (considered by some to be his best work)

Joy in the Morning 1946

The Mating Season 1949
Ring for Jeeves 1953 (without Bertie Wooster)

Jeeves and the Feudal Spirit 1954

How Right You Are, Jeeves 1960

Stiff Upper Lip, Jeeves 1963
Much Obliged, Jeeves 1971

Aunts Aren't Gentlemen 1974

Titles are the British ones
