About 50 yrs ago I was a kid in NYC & used to listen to WNEW radio I
heard a song with words like this...

"Bahalafaka, Bahalafaka, means darling I love you. Bahalafaka,
Bahalafaka, means darling I LOVE you."

No one believes me, they say it doesn't exist. Does anyone remember
this song? It was a bouncy one, sung by a man. Please help me convince
my husband & friends that I'm not nuts. Thanks. Madi...@WebTv.net.

It's called Pafalafaka and it was done by Soupy Sales on his kids show. I
actually have a copy of it on LP vinyl.

I probably haven't thought of this since I was in high school but I think the
next line is:
"Bahalafaka, Bahalafaka, they whisper it all ove Turkey,
Bahalafaka, Bahalafaka, it sounds so romantic and jerky"
Yes, it was Soupy Sales.

There is a radio program on WOR starts at midnight from what I understand.A
fellow named Joey Reynolds on all night. Soupy Sales was on a few nights
ago talking about this very song. From what I understand Soupy is on the phone
with Joey frequently and people call in on the phone and talk to them. He also
has other famous people like Les Paul and Kramer (the original) and a lot of the

old time recording stars. Sometimes it gets very interesting.

Mein Bier Bis Du Shoen is the old song recorded & made famous by Patty,
Maxine & Laverne. The song I(Pachfalafakah), mention was recorded by a
male. I don't doubt my song is also a Sammy Cahn one.

The reason I remember the Mein Bier song is because I was always kidded
as a child, what with my last name being Duchesne.

By the way, is William B. Williams still alive? I used to love his
radio program.

Thanks to all for the comeback on my question.

The song should be "Pachalafaka". I don't know any version from the late 40s.
Soupy Sales should know about this song since he recorded it for ABC Paramount
in the mid 60s. It is the flip side to "The Mouse" which charted pretty low
nationally in 1965, but was a "huge" hit in NYC at the same time.

I'm sort of coming in on the middle of this as I missed the original
post, but a song entitled PAFALAFAKA(spelling?)was recorded by Soupy
Sales in the 60's and was the flip side to his big hit THE MOUSE.It took
me a while but I found THE MOUSE on CD,however I'm still looking for
PAFALAFAKA if it's out there some place....
