I purchased the academic version of vs.net in June, and will still be a
student when vs.net 2003 is released. Can I upgrade to the new version for
less than the cost of a new academic copy?

AFAIK, Microsoft has never offered academic pricing on upgrades, only on
full packages. After all, the academic price of VS.NET is less than 20% of
the commercial price, thus far less than the "normal" upgrade price.

Hi William - we haven't announced pricing or upgrade policies yet for Visual
Studio .NET Academic. Look for info on that sometime early next year.
Thanks! -g

Thanks. I paid $119, and I've seen vs.net academic for less than $90. I'll
buy the new version when it comes out, and give my old copy to some less
fortunate student.

Or, as George, mentioned, wait and see if MS decides to offer an academic
update "special" just to keep us enthusiastic.
