The second woman I took to a park was Myra. She was 49 and I was 22. I
took her to Paramount's Kings Island. She had a free ticket. All I had
to do was pay about $6.00 for her to eat that day. When I took her home,
we DID IT in every room in her apartment.
The last woman I took to a park was Susanna. She was 20 and I was 25. I
had a ticket to give(no cost there). She did go through about $30.00 in
six hours and she didn't think I should save money to buy gas so we
could get back home. I dropped her off and I did not even recieve a
"thank you".
I think I do better when I am with older women. They not only do not try
to break me up, but they also are great lovers. To hell with women that
are my age!

Bravo!!! Now that my friends is a post! I have disagreed with a few of
Darren's post's over the years but I'm in full agreement here! I've been
telling a certain NJ correspondent this for years (Hey Adam you reading
this?). One thing I'll note is that you probably could have skipped the
park with Myra, she knew exactly what was going to happen and when.
Todd "on top of the refrigerator, beat that!" Long
PS: the last gal I took to a park, bought a 2 day pass for (never spring
for a season pass even if you have been together over a year, three
times I've done that and within a month see ya. I'm sure there is no
correlation but it still is bad mojo in my book), two nights in a room
(double beds), bought a t-shirt for, spent probably $80 on extra misc
stuff for and gave an over 1 hour long foot and back massage each
evening. Not that any of this was with any expectations of a
reciprocation, that is where you gotta be cool. Never do anything with
hopes of getting some. I'm sure Daren had fun in the park all three days
so it wasn't a total wash. So the gal (25) said 1 week later "lets just
be friends". F-you was my answer, she was the one talking up the
"relationship" and I have no interest in being a dumbass exboyfriend who
is such a good friend esp. when she has to call and say how happy she is
with some new guy or call all upset that he cheated on her. Guys be her
best friend during but block her phone # after. (Speaking of blocking
phone #'s - I am pretty quick on doing that cause I've realized I'm a
sucker and can be talked into about anything by an exflame. Its cool
figuring she is trying to call to cry and shit and gets the "your call
has been properly delivered but the person you are trying to call has
elcted not to recieve calls from this #" Of course the reality is that
this keeps you from knowing that she never did try and call again and
therefore your ego can stay inflated.)
So she writes me a week later telling me she started talking to some
Austrian (in Austia) guy online and fell in love online while we were
dating. I'm gonna rank her up right under the gal who said aliens had
visited her often while she slept and harvested her eggs (found the
scar!). She was 8 years older and that was quite a 2 weeks but I figured
one day I would wake up next to her and she would say, "they were here
last night." That ended that.
So if any of you wondered who "Kristen" was in the credits of
Coastered 2000 you now know. She is probably having cybersex on her
wedding night with some guy from Austria who is in the other room cause
she doesn't know how to have a real relationship. (pot, kettle, black on
the relationship part) Sour grapes, nah, she was a bitch anyway.

Before you buy.
I have a similar experience to tell about.
At the time I was 33, three years ago, my wife divorced me so I was
dating this girl and I took her to Vegas. The trip costed about $800
for the air, hotel, and car rental. The girl spends $10 on two beanie
babies at the airport, thats it.
So we have a great time out there, then on the last day the girl
launches a "feelings" talk. Oh sheees, these are the kind of talks
where you're arguing over nothing. We bickered right there in the MGM
casino for an hour, I thought it would never end. Finally I told the
girl that I loved her and we made up. Thats the secret, always tell
your girl that you love her, otherwise she'll launch a "feelings" talk
and you'll be doomed.
So the X-Wife comes back and I take her and the kid to Busch Gardens
Virgina and Islands of Adventure in Orlando. The x-wife ruined both
trips with bickering and just being a plain "bitch".
Now I don't take them to amusement parks.
I'm going to Las Vegas in April, I'm going with my mom and dad.
Then in May I'm going to Cedar point with my dad. He can't ride the
big coasters, but he'll walk the park with me.
Best tip, go to amusement parks alone!
Only negative to this is having noone to talk too. But you can run to
the rides and go anywhere you want in the park. Taking a girl is like
dragging a ball and chain around. If you take a girl, make them pay
their way so they'll appreciate it. Kids are the same way, they always
want to eat and buy souvineers. Forget that, leave them home and go
it alone.
Big point of the message, spend YOUR money on YOURSELF and have fun.
Talk to you later.

Out of sheer niceness, I even bcc:'d her on this, so she can be prepared.

Elissa, you're tres cool.
I wish to add a great big word of support for my wife. When we go to
parks, she is solid as a rock, looks after our little boy when I play
coaster games, lets me go on all the rides often (within reason, of
course) and still gives me kisses, hugs and backscratches when I get
off. She is a great lady. I wish I could do more for her, but she just
seems content to watch so much of the time, read a favorite book and eat
a few snackeroos.
I remember observing and playing the highschool dating game. Without

I couldn't agree more with you shawn, I'd take my girl to a park over
anyone else (she also understands the mission objective, that being to
ride ourselves silly). Last summer we both took a day off and headed to
Kennywood, and honestly I don't think i could ever think of a finer day
than that was. But then again I think Kennywood is probably the best
park to take your girl to, i think its the most romantic park i've
visited. Furthermore in that situation few things can top a darkened
ride on the old mill to finish out the day :)

Wow! If I knew that 17 years ago!
For little over a dozen years, I did very little in the amusement
park/coaster area. My (now Ex-) wife was NOT a coaster/park fan. It was
not the reason we parted, but that major difference did cause considerable
stress. In the four years I've been single, I've been catching up with lost
coaster time in a huge way. This has been the absolute greatest time of my
life. I have met more good, great, and new friends through ACE, WWCC, and
RRC in just a few short years than all other times in my life combined. (I
started to type out some of the names and the list quickly grew too long, so
forgive me. You all know who you are.) I must say this has been more
rewarding than 176 coasters I've been on since the August of '95. (BTW,
the former Mrs. and I get along quite well now.)
I've taken a few (but not enough) women out to my local park. It has been
quite fun, but none have been real coaster fans. So, I have not come close
to finding the right coaster lady. However, I've been having so much fun, I
have not been looking too terribly hard.

You're not a sap, Derek, what a wonderful post! And you're right, age
doesn't matter. Older, younger, every woman is different. I'm 40,
Susan is 26, big deal. If it were the other way around and she were
40 we would still get along. I think it comes down to looking past
the sex and understanding what kind of characteristics you look for in
a person. In that respect I am just like you, Derek. I admire a
woman who is independent, tries to pay her own way (and yes, puts up a
fight when I try to do something for her), is even tempered and
doesn't like to argue, enjoys her femininity and thinks of others
first. Susan isn't park intelligent but she's about the most
agreeable person I've ever met and she'll go along with anything. The
most telling thing to me is that I have *FUN* with Susan at parks.
And I can take a few rides with other friends and know that I don't
have to worry about her having fun - she is. Elissa sounds alot like
Susan, and if so, you're a lucky man. We've been together for four
years and she is awesome.
So guys, girls, don't worry about age - I'm living proof there's a lot
more important things!

I'm friends with virtually every girlfriend I've ever had in my life.
I will not tell you how many that is because it's hard for even me to
believe.
I see three of them regularly. One still, after longer than 30 years,
cuts my hair. Another and I talk on the 'phone at least weekly, dine
occasionally, and go out dancing from time to time (I consider her my
dance partner). It's been at least six years since we were lovers. I
see, and dance with, the third about once a month.
As far as the many others go, we call or send cards for our
birthdays and occasionally dine or talk on the 'phone. I love 'em
all.
My current girlfriend (we'll have our third anniversary this week)
is acquainted with many of them but doesn't necessarily know how
important they are to me nor our history. She's smart enough to not

First off I'm going to TOAST James when he comes home for not replying to
this. l-)
I'm sure most of you know, but if you dont you will now: I'm a 20-year old
female. I've been on rrc since I was 13. Reading this thread, I see a lot of
different sides to it.
For one....I'm a thrillseeker in EVERYTHING. It's tough for me associate
with girls sometimes because of that. So many women, I ADMIT, are completely
without interest in anything that gets their blood pumping. (No pun) That's a
bummer, trying to find a friend who doesn't adhere to that. I COMPLETELY
understand the male viewpoint on this one, the women who would rather have
electrolysis then ride a coaster or whatever.
But here's my side and HO: If you're into coasters seriously, you NEED to
find a sig other who's into them as well. I always knew that, really, and stuck
with guys who were into coasters. I always had negative results with guys that
weren't. My double problem: I needed a coaster guy, but one who was ALSO into
CP as much as I, or at least understood me with it. Not an easy task. It's a
little different from a female standpoint, since there are so many coaster guys
and so few coaster girls. I honestly do feel for you guys, but it's WORTH
waiting for someone who knows what you feel and can associate. It'll be a
lifetime of grudges as the girl sits in the car or room while you're off at a
park, unless she's really independant. I went through this with guys...went to
CP with them and they got --scared-- of the enthusiasts and told me they'd be
waiting for me elsewhere. Wonderful......
Yes, there ARE women who will go to parks and pay for their own things, ride
the coasters, have a great time, and not make it a hassle. It's kind of a
putdown for a gal to see a thread like this on rrc, but the hell with it. I'm
just saying I understand the male side of it, and am saying that it isn't
always like that with all women. It can be hard for us too....'normal' ;-) guys
sometimes find us weird or too unfeminine when we get into the coaster stuff.
Guys have their stupid quirks too. Been there, done that.
I've been with James for almost a year and a half now, and I'll say that the
CP link I have with him is something absolutely priceless. It's beyond worth to
say "God, I miss CP today" and hear him say "Me too, especially..." and name
some ride or such. It was absolutely worth the wait and filtering through the
crud to get to this point. I can sit back and know happily that he understands
exactly what I'm into...because he is also. I don't care what another guy might
have to offer: This means more. He knows CP means more to me than anything, and
respects that. Others don't. ::shrugs:: All I'm saying is it's worth the wait.
And I apologize to guys for all the wussy gals out there...there's quite a few.

I am now 42 years old. I have always loved amusement parks--especially those
with great roller coasters. If I pass through a town with an amusement park
and I don't get to at least look around, I feel cheated! If a guy will give me
a ride to an amusement park, not only will I pay my own way into the park, but
I'll pay his way too--just because he supplied the ride! (Sorry, guys, I'm
already spoken for!)
Unfortunately, we have discovered that my sweetie can't ride the coasters like
he used to. With high blood pressure, it really makes him very ill after a good
whip around the track. But, because he loves me, he allows me to ride the
coasters while he finds other interesting things to do. We plan a place to
meet after I depart the ride. If the girls you were dating cared enough about
you, they would understand the urge to coast, and they would allow you to ride
too.
Elizabeth
