Most likely this has been asked before but...

I am about to buy a Tungsten T and would like to protect the screen.
Which "protector" do we like and why.

Can't speak for all of us, but I like the Brando protector I just got
a few weeks ago.

It was pretty easy to apply. I got some dust motes under it the first
time, so I peeled it up to where the problems were and used a bit of
scotch tape to pull the dust off the sticky side of the
protector. Laid it back down without any bubble issues, and it's
almost invisible now, except for a mild anti-glare effect which is
intentional.

The thing seems very durable. It's not a disposable protector, you can
actually remove it, wash it, and re-apply it after it dries. It's
about as sticky as the adhesives on the ubiquitous yellow sticky
notes, so it stays on well, but can be removed without worrying about
the digitizer.

There are links to more formal reviews at the official site:

Even though it comes from Hong Kong, mine arrived in about a week.

The only screen protector that has been authorized for use with the
Tungsten tm models are SEE

I wouldn't buy anything associated with Bill Warman. Do a little research
and you'll find he claims to be "the inventor" of screen protectors. He's
harassed everyone from PDA manufacturers to EBay sellers; with his silly
patent.

Who is this nut??? Authorized my ass...

I am using Fellowes M505 protectors as they didn't have TT ones when I bought mine. I
was using the M500 series from Brando, but it was old and I guess I wore it out as the
last time I washed it; I managed to crease the thing right in the middle.
I prefer the Brando model...mine lasted about a year, so what appears to be additional
cost pretty much evens out.

Personally, though, I recommend Brando. I just recently bought one for
my Tungsten, and I love it.

So I need authorization to use a screen protector? I've looked over my
warrantee, and I can't see how using a Brando protector voids it.

"Authorized"... I'm still chuckling.

these are nice but a bit thick. but they show a nx60 on there you can't put one
of their normal screen protector under a sony screen's edge or it will not work
right You can have any pressure like that on the screen.

You'd better start taking this seriously before I go all out
and send the touch-screen police over there. Then we'll
see who's got the authority.

I'll second that, I like the Brando much better than the "WriteRight's" I
had been using.

I authorize what goes on the screen of my TT. It's currently 5 mil
clear fabric store vinyl, which costs only a few pennys and lasts
a very long time. See the PalmOS FAQ on my web page for more details.

IMHO. YMMV.

I used vinyl for a long time myself, finding it a pretty good solution
and definately better than WriteRights. I touted vinyl's advantages
until I discovered and tried the Brando Workshop protectors.

Clear, sharp screen with slight glare reduction, and a nice
uninhibited feel when using the stylus. I realized, in comparison,
vinyl is a bit shiny, have a slight rubbery drag and don't last as
long as the Brandos.

As for the vinyl costing "pennies"... not a factor. I don't consider
spending $12 or so a year to fully protect my Palm screen an
significant expense. Hardly.

Oh, and as for Bill Warman, he's known within the Palm community as a
documented nut case and spammer, so his product is not a
consideration. WriteRights suck. Vinyl's not bad. But, I'd
recommend the Wando Workshop protectors to anyone looking for a
suitable screen protector.
