Inconstant geography delayed the green wizard. One thing of this
quadrant he really hated, how things tended to shift around. But so
long as current royalty held power, he had little hope of changing that.

Realization of the futility of attacking the cucumber menance gave him
pause. He and his lady could surely vanquish thousands, but not the
millions reported.

Reports of what must be the enemy stronghold in the east gave him a new
target. He must destroy the evil at its source. No half measures would
suffice.

From where they were, three more or less direct routes lead towards his
target. His hand came to rest on a vial hanging from his belt. He and
his forces would take all three.

They reached the west gates of Moria within the day. And found them
locked shut. With his vast powers he could have blasted or forced his
way though. But he prefered subtlety. Examination revealed that the
gates hadn't been weatherstripped. Clearly old construction. Placing a
drop of grey fluid near the base of the gate, he waved his hand and sent
it through. It would grow into an army of mud beasts on the far side.

Another couple days travel they reached a fork in the road, east over
the mountain, or south to the sea, and Rohan. Again, he sent a mud
beast east, this time a single giant monster. Though this one could
well be a snow beast by the time it passed the mountain.

The green wizard and his red haired lady continued towards Rohan. Best
have the least threatening group take the populated road.

They hadn't gone far, skirting the northern edge of the plainsland, when
they discovered an old tower at the edge of a far older forest. He
recalled the old line, 'adventure, excitement, a jedi craves not these
things.' Still, this tower might hold something usefull, old books,
artifacts. And it did. No books worth reading, decayed as they were,
but there was an artifact, a seeing stone. He'd stay awhile, rebuild
the tower into a fortress, and study the stone.

Rebuilding would take most of his grey liquid, but when he was done he
could have a great deal more.

He'd always liked the thought of owning a castle at the edge of an
ancient forest. Best not make local enemies who might take it away.

------------------------------------------------
Summary:
- mud beasts are sent into Moria and the mountian passage east.
- the green wizard rebuilds Isengard. He leaved the nearby forest
undisturbed. What need has he for lumber?
- the green wizard discovered a viewing stone and studies it.

He leaved it undisturbed... nice pun.

For his lumbering prose?
