Alright, lets sum up the next few months of posts:

"Benitez is the worst closer in baseball. Art Howe should be fired
because it's all his fault. Well, everything that isn't Steve Phillips'
fault. Well, everything that isn't Fred Wilpon's fault. Mike Piazza is
washed up. .275/33/98? Those are not Mike numbers... trade him while he
still has value. Roger Cedeno sucks. Jeromy Burnitz sucks. Alomar
doesn't like New York or Shea, which is why he can't hit anymore. Tom
Glavine is just another old fart who isn't worth the money. Vaughn
looks like he ate the 3rd base umpire. Everything would be better if we
still had Robin Ventura and Todd Zeile... nevermind that I was on the
'dump them' bandwagon. Bring back Olerud. Bring back Jeff Kent. Sign
Barry Bonds. Trade for Roger Clemens. Fran Healy is an idiot, Keith
Hernandez is a coke-head, Bob Klapisch is a hack and for the love of
god, REBUILD!! REBUILD!!"

did I leave anything out?

My original post was not what you would call "serious" in tone. I
personally have no ill feelings about Keith.

- Cone came back, so why not Darling, Seaver, Fat Sid, and Gooden.
- I like the old/new/home/away jersey better.
- The umps blew that call.
- Owners suck.

how about "bring back rey"? he IS hitting better than piazza right now. (
yes i am joking) as far as howe is concerned....think about who you think is
the greatest manager in baseball history. that guy couldn't manage this team
to a significant number of victories. the mets sucking at this stage is not
his fault...just as it wasn't all v's fault.

(that was a very good summary by the way...although i don't remember the
ones wanting to trade for clemens....)

of all the problems with the mets...the starting pitching isn't where i
would look first. leiter has had some awesome starts...including today.
glavine's straightening himself out. trachsel has been ok. seo hasn't been
terrible. cone had one bad start (and my guess is he will have a few more).
piazza needs to hit for this team to go anywhere. that's the bottom line.

i don't care how many HR's ventura/ zeile hit for the yankees. it wasn't a
bad idea to dump them...although defensively i would rather see zeile at
first than vaughn.

just my opinion.

You left out two things:

1) We need a new stadium, because Shea sucks.

2) John Rocker sucks (okay, I just felt like saying that :) )

We're talking about a.s.b.ny-m here. Grammar be darned, it would be "They
should of signed ARod!"

Probably nothing nicer than what he had to say about last years squad.

With hitting and heart!!! Erstad and Eckstein alone each have more heart

Yeah, what did they ever win? The Mets don't win in '86 without Hernandez
hitting 3rd. The Mets lose with Leiter and Piazza, they can lose for far
less $$$ without 'em.

Keith had a .310 BA with 94 RBI's and a .413 OBP that year when there were
actually real pitchers throwing softer baseballs and he clearly never used
steroids to bulk up like some current HR kings.

How about those ridiculous trade proposals that a.s.b.ny-m'ers come up
with:

"I have a trade idea. Let's trade Rey Sanchez and Mo Vaughn for
Erubiel Durazo and Miguel Tejada."
