This message is intended for anyone doing development on any platform,
not just MacOS. We are planning to upgrade the Mac development
environment to CodeWarrior Pro7 on Monday, December 3 (tenatively). For
those inside Netscape/AOL, a disk image with the new tools will be on
the dev server in the usual place. For those in mozilla-land, you'll
need to buy Pro7.

As of the switchover, we are no longer supporting Pro5. I know, I know,
it's about time. However, this means that your old tools will no longer
work. You must upgrade. This does not affect the mach-o build at all.

This upgrade also unifies our Classic/Carbon build tools. You now will
need only one set of tools to build either classic or carbon.

The reason why non-Mac people should be interested in this announcement
is that we'll also be moving at the same time to _XML projects_ and
getting away from the binary .mcp files currently in the tree. This
means that you _no longer need a mac_ to add files to the mac build,
just edit the XML with a text editor.

We will send out further notices and reminders as things get closer.

Thanks!

A truly joyous occasion!

Could someone update this document then? Or tell Akkana or me what
to change.
