I still have this game along with a 100 or more for the Intellivision,
and it was one of my favorites. As kids we played the thing to death,
but when we got to the dragon at the end, the only thing we could do
was some how warp the wizard into the dragons lair area and that was
it.......did this game have no ending or what. Its been years (12 or
more) since I last played the game to that point, so the old memory is
foggy, but what was up with it?

This was one of my favorite Intellivision games as well. I seem to
remember using 'destroy wall' spells to get through the thick walls
of the dragon's lair, and nothing else happened. The dragon just
sat there, and I don't think we could even pick up all the treasure
that was just lying around. It was just window dressing. I remember
being very disappointed at the end of a game I loved so much...

For what it's worth, I wondered the same thing for years. Before I
got nostalgic a year or so ago and started play intellivision again, I
just figured that I was missing something, and that without that
missing weapon or spell, you couldn't win . However, when I started
poking around the web, I realized that there were several people with
the same problem. Everyone tried the destroy walls spell to get to the
dragon, but when they did...nothing! I wrote to the Blue Sky Rangers
and they said they would try and contact the Imagic author, but I
believe (this was a year ago) they e-mailed me back and said there was
no luck. I hope it helps knowing there are several other frustrated
S&S players out there.

Yes, Swords and Serpents does end, but it's not clear at all.
My friend and I beat it a long time ago and I didn't figure it out
until last year or so.

What you do is blast through the serpents lair with destroy walls.
Pick up the last three treasures, then you will see three initials,
which stand for the programmer's name and then warp back to the chest.

That's it, no dramatic ending, and a little disappointing for an otherwise
great game.

Yeah. Back when I first beat it when it was initially released I too was
really disappointed. I did it twice because I thought I had to have missed
something. But alas, I too eventually figured out that the developer's
initials were the only "secret of the dragon's lair." I was so bummed I
didn't bother sending "the secret" to Imagic to get the free Imagic stuff.
Now THAT I do regret not doing now!
