Today I got a msg telling me I have run out of disk space on drive c.
Funny thing is when I go to "my computer" and check the drive I see
that I have 1.6 GB remaining. now this is very odd!!!!
I tried deleting and writing data to the drive and nothing changes
still stuck at 1.6 GB.

any ideas ppl??

Hello,

If you are indeed getting false disk full messages, here are some of the
causes:

1. A bad user.exe file

2. Inappropriate virtual memory settings

3. Corrupt or incorrect version of a file being used - usually a file that
has
been replaced by installing another application that does not check
versions on installing.

Reinstall of application or OS fixes this usually.

4. Too many files on the root. Can you create a new file on the root? If
not,
there are too many.

5. Temp directory that is loaded with files. Delete files.

6. Temp directory does not exist - when the system attempts to write temp
files, it cannot. - Go to Command prompt in Windows and type: set If
it
says: temp= with nothing to the right of temp=, then the directory does
not
exist.

7. Vcache settings

8. Virus

Please continue to post with any updated troubleshooting if your problem
persists.

Good Luck,

You might try also running defrag too.
