I picked up three this week - the Tigerman, the Skeleton and the
Soldier. I have to say these are pretty cool. Durable but easy to
change the different parts. The game you play with them is okay,
simple at least with lots of carnage. I liked the Stikfas this
company made but thought they were too fragile to be anything more
that a desktop novelty but these XEVOZ are pretty sturdy and they have
tons of articulation. My only complaint is that the pieces are
detailed just enough to make you not want to put the stickers on them
but that is pretty minor. Anyone else have any thoughts on these?
And has anyone seen the other figures - the Insect, the Fire Guy, the
Ninja or the Robot? (Really want the Ninja and Robot...)

Seen 'em. Not terribly impressed. What surprised me was that one of them was
called "Neo-Sapien". Excuse me, but when did the copyright holder for Exo-Squad
let go of THAT name!?

i'm a huge fan of the stikfas line. they pulled me away from gundam...
but then again gundam hasn't put anything decent out in a couple of
months. anyways stikfas are pretty cool on their own, however they're
plain jane so you can make your own figures.

Alot of kids don't have the desire to make a custom figure, and thats
where Xevoz come in to play. you still get a blank slate for the people
who want to make them their own, or you can keep them how they are and
still have a really nice figure. they've got enough posibility with all
the snaping joints and they're a good size to let kids use them with
other action figures. in fact, i've currently got the panther guy
tearing apart some of my stikfas displays in a mutant monster type of
idea.

the game that it comes with is decent, my cat doesn't like to play it
though, so i've never actually finished a whole game. the rules arn't
real clear on what counts as a part to remove though... is each part
that snaps or has a plug a differect part?

well i've rambled on enough and a bet a few of you are wondering if i
work for Xevoz.... nope, but i would! call me!!!

ps- their website is still not fully up, and the only wave of figures
i've found is of the 3 small ones (skull, pather, human) however i
haven't seen the skull yet. the other waves will probably be out
sometime this month. as for the ninja and insect, i think they're in a
2-pack with the "game board" ... i think i'm in love with this line

p.ps- sorry for the typos and any run on sentences. i've been awake for
26 hours and can't find the spell checker for the life of me

I picked up the Pantherman a couple of weeks ago at one of my "local"
TRU-which has been the closest thing to a Stikfas they've carried
since the first series (oh wait, they still have Firefighter warming
the clearance peg, yet said figure remains non-clearanced price).
Suffice it to say I was torn between the Neo-Sapien and Panther, so I
let my beloved choose-the skull figure didn't much do it for me
because of the bad paint ops, and I didn't see the robot figure.

Now then, Panther ranks right up there with Robot w/teddy bear Stikfas
as my favorite (among the Stikfas line) because of the size and heft.
The paint ops (which I suppose is meant to look gray, when it looks
more like gray-green) and the game part I could do without-I've got
plenty of role-play/duel games lying around. I'd like to see more of
this line, heck I'd like to see more of the Stikfas line as a whole,
but my TRUs tend to carry more diddly than squat, so Panther will have
to be one of those figures that'll never, ever, ever have any
comrades.

I wound up with two of each of these first three figures... Ordered online,
then saw 'em in the store & couldn't resist... :)

Very nice figures, extremely solid joints that hold poses well. Mixing &
matching the parts works quite well, especially with duplicate figures (the
military guy is quite intimidaging with two of those giant guns attached to
his backpack, while carrying two more guns in his hands...)

The game itself is quite simplistic, but has more depth than I had initially
thought, and can be quite amusing.

Here's the deal: You build a six sided, cylindrical die out of long,
triangular wedge shaped pieces, each of which corresponds to one of the
parts you can attach to your figure. You can only have three "gold" parts,
but other than that, anything goes.

One face of each wedge shows the part that it corresponds to, the other two
are the "game" faces. Each game face has a black half and a white half, with
a number and one or more icons printed next to each number. Each game face
is a "mirror" of the other (IE: If one face shows a black 2 with 3 swords,
and a white 4 with 1 sword, the other face will show a WHITE 2 with 3
swords, and a BLACK 4 with 1 sword).

Once each player has built a die, and a figure with 25 parts (including the
ones their die faces correspond to), you start the game. Basically, the
"attacker" rolls their die and declares either white or black. The two
players compare the halves of the uppermost face on their die, and the high
roller wins and applies the effects of the icons.

For each sword, the opponent loses 1 part (attackers choice)
For each star, the attacker "heals" 1 part.
If the icon is a "bomb", the attacker re-rolls and applies both the black
_and_ white results to the other player (but if they roll another face with
a bomb, the icon on the other half hits both players).

Whoever runs out of parts first, loses. And no, losing parts does not lose
you the corresponding wedge from your die...

So, it _is_ pretty simplistic, but when you get more parts & start mixing &
matching, it winds up having a _bit_ more depth, as you attempt to fine-tune
your die to give you the best odds. This is because the higher the number on
the die, the weaker the icons will be, and the lower the number on the
other half of the face will be... If you have a face with an "8" on one
half, it will usually only do one damage, and the other half of the face
will be a "1".

Likewise, you have to put some thought into whether you want to weigh your
die more towards black or white, or balance it between the two. For
instance, if you put all your high numbers into one color, you'd better
hope you're the first attacker, because you're unlikely to win the
initiative back with 1's.... And do you want to concentrate on taking the
most parts from your opponent, healing yourself, or gambling on the carnage
that the bomb icon can provide?

But the most amusement comes from trying to humilate your opponent when you
shoot bits off of their figure, and trying to get your figure to look
menacing when over half his parts have been blown off and he's balancing on
one foot....

FWIW - it looks like it will at least be a _little_ more complex with the
release of the ninja/bug set, since there's an actual board included with
it.

i've got two of the panther guys, and have all of the gold stuff on one
of them, while the other looks like a wild animal with the open jaw,
crotch cloth and those and claw things.

i would have gotten 2 of all of them, but they only had 3 panthers and 1
human at the store i found them at. :(

okay, for the big question though, how do you attach two of those big
guns to his backpack?is he still holding the handles of them, or is the
gun in a "not in use" position? i've fiddled with it for the last 10
min and can't figure it out. maybe i'll have to hunt for a few more of
them tomorrow. anyone know when the stores start to get shipments of
toys again? i'm not sure if they're still using the extra stock from X-
mas...

thanks for the info!

Picked up The pirate, the werecat and the robot over the last couple
of days. The robot and the Flame Demon guy are a couple bucks more and
come in bigger packages, and feature spring loaded weapons and a few
extra accessories. The ninja and the Mantis, unfortunately, are only
availble together in a forthcoming two-pack. Sucks, I really want the
ninja, and I'll buy the pack for it, but I'm not too hot on the
mantis.
