Hello all,
I recently dug inside my HP9000/380 and found a funny DIO-I type card. The
model number is 98286 and upon boot it is reported as 98286 Coprocessor. The
board has an Intel 286 processor at 8Mhz and some memory and misc. chips.
What I'd like to know is that what kind of support has this card had and
what did people use it for ??

Any hints, tips, pointers etc.. appreciated

TIA,

I never used one of those, but I've kept an old _HP9000 Series 300 Pricing
Information January 1989_ which lists:

98286S DOS Coprocessor System. Includes a 98286A DOS Coprocessor interface
card and 98531A DOS Coprocessor Software. Requires DIO I-based accessory slot
and the latest revision of HP-UX, minimum Application Execution Environment.
Additional products include the 9127A 5 1/4-inch disc drive and the D1387A
80287 numeric coprocessor.

It lists the cost as $1,375 with the software on 1/4-inch cartridge tape.

Hope this helps.
