This synopsis is from memory, so instead of the usual scene by scene
breakdown I'm writing it by storyline. As I am working from memory, there
will be references tio Wednesday's episode too. Let me know which method you
prefer.

Seth is told on the phone he is Hotton Courier's Dalesman Of The Week and
arranges to meet a journalist in the Woolie. Betty gets enthusiastic! At
Home Farm, Kim is pleased Seth has been granted the accolade and says he can
take the afternoon off.

Jan takes Alice to school, she is nervous and sends Alice past the school
gates alone, rather than walking her all the way to the school building. As
Alice goes to meet her friends and the teacher takes the kids inside, Jan
smiles.

Lyn arrives at Annie's cottage to meet Marlon - he stinks from the covering
of muck laid on by the Dingles the night before. Scott, out running, appears
and asks Lyn if she would like a night out, as he is due back at the
barracks thge next day. Marlon does not approve, reminding Lyn that he needs
her at the wine bar. Lyn tells Scott that she will talk to him later. Marlon
looks a little suspicious. Kathy arrives and shouts at Marlon. The Tea Rooms
are still covered in muck and the inside smells of fish from Marlon's Fish
'n' Chip restaurant (well, he had to amend the menu...). Looking for an easy
way out, Marlon goes to the post office shop for some cans of air freshener.
Vic says they are out of stock, except for some Christmas air freshwener
that never sold very well. Marlon is desperate - he buys all the cans.

Still out running, Scott sees in the distance Piggy leaning into a car,
which drives off. He catches up with her and askls what she was doing "He
thought I was touting for business". Scott looks kind of surprised, Kelly
gives him a look like he's dumb, "It was Chris Tate". She says he was
discussing her returning to work. Scott says she should be careful. (This
was interesting, because we only saw the car, we did not actually see Chris
in the scene. Maybe the actor has left, maybe all we will see from now on
will be the car with tinted windows, a black-gloved hand passing notes out
now and then... the other characters will mention what Chris is doing but we
will never see him... I've seen it happen in soaps before)

At Home Farm, Kim gets her solicitor to look over Steve's business proposal.
The solicitor asks to speak to Kim privately. At first Kim says she is happy
to have him stay, but he leaves anyway. In shot (but not in Kim's view) we
see him look a little worried...

Kim is told that the business plan is a good one, but she does not recommend
Kim "put all her eggs in one basket". Kim thanks her for her advice but says
she is happy to proceed. Steve looks pleased.

At the tea rooms Kathy is rushed off her feet. Betty has taken the afternoon
off to organise Seth's press interview and Marlon's air freshener has caused
all the customers to ask for mince pies! For the rest of the episode, Marlon
and Kathy are plagues by customers asking for mince pies...

At the Woolie, Seth and Betty are being interviewed by the journalist (not
the usual one but the guy who loses his towel in the Pal dog food commercial
"it's hard being a family dog"). The journo isn't getting much on Seth, just
a lot of earache from Betty, who looks very impressive in her sunday best.
Betty takes the hint, then takes offence and leaves them to it. Seth
chunters on a bit, cons the journo into buying him another pint... then
begins to spill the beans about poaching on Home Farm ("security up there is
a shambles, it's the easiest place to poach from, I should know..."). The
journo pays rapt attention.

Jan picks up Alice from school for Kathy. Viv Windsor swoops down on her
broomstick and accuses Jan of kidnapping - in front of several children and
parents. She takes Alice to Kathy, who is understandably angry and suggests
it was Viv this time who had done the kidnapping. She tells Viv in no
uncertain terms never to pick up Alice from school again. Jan is upset and
takes it out on Ned.

Meanwhile, at the Wine Bar the rest of the Windsor clan are waiting for
Scott, and Marlon is waiting for Lyn. Lyn and Scott are in Hotton. As they
go through the doors of a nightclub, one doorman says "how nany girlfriends
do you have?". Lyn and Scott are attracted to eachother, he confides in Lyn
that he is unhappy in the army. They have fallen for eachother and kiss...

END

Hope that was OK, please fill in any parts I missed, I did not get to see
the whole episode and the rest came from my Mum.
