We have just switched from Access97 to Access2002. When
entering data in table view into a database, if the first
2 entries are in sequential order, Access automatically
will fill in the next fields with values continuing the
sequence, just by hitting enter or Tab. For example, I
have 4 fields. I enter 10 in the first field, and then
hit [tab] (or [enter]) and then enter 11 in the next
field. When I hit [tab] or [enter] to move to the 3rd
field, Access automatically puts in a 12 and if I just hit
[tab] or [enter] again, Access will automatically fill in
a 13 in the 4th field! This is not good, if I am doing
semi-heads down data entry and am trying to put null
values in the fields I [Tab] or [Enter] Through. Any way
to turn this "Feature" Off?

Thanks for any insight into this that folks might have.

Hi Tom,

My name is Michael Noto. Thank you for using the Microsoft
Access Newsgroups. As I understand, you are seeing the auto fill feature
kick in and is adding data that you do not desire. I have not found a way
to turn off this feature but a workaround is to add a default vale to the
fields in the table such as 0 for numbers or "" in text fields. This will
stop the auto fill of the fields.

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
