Hi, since upgrading to Mozilla 1.2 (under Win2k) I constantly get this
message: " Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded
the maximum number of connections to this server. If so, use the
Advanced IMAP Server settings dialog to reduce the number of cached
connections."

My mail provider is not having any problems with their IMAP server and
testing the connection with Outlook Express work fine. Also changing the
number of cached connections has made no difference.
I did a fresh install of 1.2 but I left mail/news folders from the
nightly versions I had been using.

Anybody have a solution to this?
Thanks
Jared

Hi Jared

I had the same problem and it stopped after my provider has increased
the connections to the server.
It seems that the mozilla mail client uses a connection for each mail
folder. But i am not certain about this.

I'm using mDaemon IMAP4 with Mozilla (since 1.x) and it only shows on
connection/session on the server. I have a lot of folder organization
and so do my customers...

I had the same problem. Frustrating. But finally found if you go to
Edit -> Mail & Newsgroup Account Settings -> (your imap account) ->
Server Settings... and hit the "advanced" button. You'll see a setting
for the number of "cached" connections to keep open...
