Seems nobody can give an answer to this one....
I've been having th esame problem for a month now - since I upgraded to IE6.
Was fine under 5.5

Have you tried re-installing the OS over itself?
And - this is probably really the answer - you need to use your backup that
you made when it was all working properly.

Open Windows Explorer to the (hidden) Windows\Inf folder
Locate "srchasst.inf", right-click and select: Install
To view hidden files in Windows XP:
Click Tools | Folder Options | View
1) Select: "Display system folder contents"
2) Select: "Show All Files and Folders"
3) Uncheck: "Hide file extensions for known file types"
4) Uncheck: "Show protected system files"
Click Apply\Ok

This fix doesn't work for me. When I click install, it prompts me for a
file that's on the Office XP CD-ROM. I put that CD-Rom in, but the system
doesn't find any file on there it needs. So, I can't do anything with these
instructions!
Any other thoughts?
