Hello everyone

I have been catching up on the recent developments with Visual Studio. I
have come across some contradictory information. I have read articles that
they the "Whidbey" version of Visual Studio will be released in 2004 and in
2005. I am wondering which it is?? Also when in the year would be helpful.
Also will this Visual Studio be able write code against the Longhorn SDK???

Thanks
MacKenzie

We're currently looking at a beta of Whidbey this summer and that's going to
determine a lot of the rest of our schedule. I've heard analysts speculate
that we'll release Whidbey this winter, but hitting our quality bar is the
most important thing.

You don't need any tools to use the Longhorn SDK -- it comes with
command-line tools. That said, there will be ways to target the Longhorn SDK
from the Whidbey toolset.
