If you have Omniremote and OR Desktop, and want to make a virgin Sony
NS300/400 (I think it works for NC600 also) DVD player multi-region,
then try this:

Place DVD player in stand-by mode
Send codes 1,2,3,4,5 (listed below)
The player should turn on.
Wait for about 5 seconds and press the power button twice.

If I've sampled these correctly (no, I haven't been able to test them
myself since I don't have a Sony DVD player) then you should have a
RCE-proof multiregion Sony DVD player, without getting it chipped.

The companies that are charging hundreds of pounds for pre-programmed
One-For-All handsets with these codes really ought to hang their heads
in shame.

My xmas gift to the world.

Do these IR codes translate to existing buttons on the remote or can they
only be reproduced by a universal remote?

Thanks

Has any one else tried this?

I have on my 2 week old ns400 but sending the five codes does nothing.
I've checked the PDA and it does work as I can turn the DVD player on
and off?

Any chance someone could re-learn the 5 IR codes and post them?

Hey, thanks so far man. I have installed omniremote and cracked it
or i could not send the code. It should be working now.
Yet when i send the codes nothing happens.
Is there a way to reset the DVD player to a "virgin" state because
mine already has been running for some time now.

Thanks

I'm trying!!! what I would really need is a way to enter the code into
my Pronto (I don't have a Palm). I've searched everywhere but I can't
find how to do this. Please someone, help me! If you have a way to
convert ccf to pdb I would be very thanksfull

Thank you,
Patchou.

btw, has anyone already tested this code on a Zone1 NTSC DVD Player?

I have seen the hex code you've posted, but don't know how to convert
it into something the Pronto will recognise. I see that a friend of
your has learnt these codes in a Pronto. Could you send me this file
or perhaps give me their email.
