Does anyone know of a good network simulator for server throughput
testing?
Specifically, I will be testing a RADIUS server, and would like a tool
that will bombard with UDP requests.

Thanks for any help that you can provide,

I've always had good luck using the Ganymede product "Chariot". It's not
free, but it's great for simulating network traffic based on different types
of applications (FTP, SMTP, Custom Apps).

hello:

since i just went thru a slew of products and am evaling a few, you may
want to look at ganymede's chariot (network, bandwidth and throughput
testing and simulation); also from ganymede is pegasus, it will monitor
the net for you and provide qos monitoring and allow for proactive
response to net issues; realsecure from iss is probably what you want
to look at since you want to bombard with udp datagrams. realsecure can
launch over 200 attacks on your net to locate vulnerabilities, etc.
they also have a product called internet scanner; if you want to
simulate the wan, the cloud is very useful. it allows you to control
all aspects of a wan and lets you run your app across the simulation
that you've created.

i don't know where you are but you can contact the following for more
info:

www.ganymede.com
www.iss.net
www.shunra.com

hope this helps,
