I got the same problem with man.tgz until I said I don't want to see
filenames as each file ist extracted.

There is something to be learned from a rainstorm. When meeting with a sudden
shower, you try not to get wet and run quickly along the road. But doing such
things as passing under the eaves of houses, you still get wet. When you are
resolved from the beginning, you will not be perplexed, though you still get
the same soaking. This understanding extends to everything. [Hagakure]

hi. i'm doing a vanilla 1.6 install on a thinkpad a20p. six months ago, i
did a 1.5.2 install on the same machine and it went flawlessly. this time,
something bad happened.

we get to the point where sysinst asks what to be installing, and i go for
full. since earlier, when doing the disk config i selected X11, this means
i'm going to get the x11 distribution sets.

everything goes just fine downloading all the .tgz's. everything goes just
fine unpacking them until we get to:

pax ... .../xbase.tgz
Segmentation fault

uh.... what?

so, i started from scratch, did the disk config for x11, but when it came
time to select distribution sets, i turned off all the x stuff. sysinst ran
successfully and i'm now in the process of doing pkgsrc stuff.

i'll install x manually later on.

but, what gives?
