Anyone can tell me who belongs to that soft voice in the two singles
released under the name of Cult Hero (I'm a Cult Hero, I Dig You)?

By the way, it's a funny choir the one inside them, isn't it?

Ric.

The two songs were sung by Frank Bell a local postman in the town of Horley(UK). It was Robert Smiths wrote the songs but wanted
someone else to sing the songs. Wat he was looking for was a "cult hero". He found what he was looking for. Frank Bell (the
postman) is infact "The Cult Hero".
The instruments were played by The Cure + The Obtainers and Robert Smiths two sisters, Janet on bass and Margareth on backing
vocals.
Only2 000 copies were pressed in the UK !!! The design for the sleeve was an idea of Robert Smith´s from an old Howlin´ Wolf LP.
I´m a Cult Hero/I Dig You original Discography:

I´M A CULT HERO b/w I Dig You
(UK-december 1979. 7" single w/PS. Fiction-FICS 006)
(2 000 copies only !!!)

I DIG YOU b/w I´m A Cult Hero
(Canada-April 1980. 7" single. no PS.... Modulation-MN 45000)
(Approximately 35 000 copies sold)

I DIG YOU b/w I´m A Cult Hero
(New Zealand-1981. 7" single w/ a thick card PS. STUNN- BFA 012)
(This is by far the most scarce and rarely found singles by The Cure)

in 1988, in Italy, there was also released a biography/lyric book which included a reissue 7" single without a PS. of I´m a Cult
Hero b/w I Dig You (SCONC- Sconc 4) A few years later the book was repressed, this time with a 2 track CD instead of the vinyl 7".

All other releases are Boots!!!!

Where could I find this track on MP3? I would love to have it to help me
become the completist that I have always wanted to be.

Maybe an ex-colleague of Robert's (I know he was a postman for a few days)?

What does it mean PS? Is it an abbreviation for Photo Sleeve (or maybe
Public Sale)?

In fact I own this last issue, released with a 'sonic book' with the story
of the group 77 to 87. It's without any information about the two songs
except for their titles.

Thanks a lot for the infos and regards!

Frank Bell was totally unknown to any of the Cure members, they found him by accident in a pub and asked him to sing on the
record.....he looked like a real local "cult hero".

Wasn't he wearing a shirt that said "I'm a Cult Hero" on it?
Or I'm just a sucker who'll believe anything.. ;)
