Can you add a second functional Text Box in the Master
Slide? I tried resizing the original text box and made
room for a 2nd text box in the Master Slide. After adding
the second text box in the Master slide, I closed it and
added a new regular slide. The regular slide then had the
resized original text box which you could click into and
add data to, BUT the second Text box had the same words as
the original text box but you could not click into it and
add data...it rather stayed like a background on the new
regular slide.

You can't add "placeholders" to the Master. The recommended work around
would be to create a "normal" slide with the text box and then duplicate it
when you need it and edit the text to taste.
