Like the title says Shadowfist won the Gamer's Choice award at
Gencon. The RPGA presented us with a classy plaque (which Robin and I
are thinking of having made into a WWF-style championship belt which
we'd timeshare).

I'd like to thank all the RPGA members who voted Shadowfist the best
card game of the year. No matter how many awards Shadowfist wins Robin
and I are still as appreciative as heck for them. Its great to recieve
the recognition of the gaming public for our work. Once again thanks.

on? :)

And a plug; the Dragons need a Lucha Libre (sp?) style wrestlin' demon.
In the Rey Misterio Jr vein. That'd be cool, and just a little weird.

I'd like to add my congratulations too. It's weird how hit and miss Shadowfist is.
I know of one store in Portland that isn't getting ANY Flashpoint; "No demand for
it," they say. Then there's the store I go to more regularly which is getting 17
boxes of Flashpoint and will have no trouble moving it all. It all depends on where
you go. My reasoning is this: anyone who has tried this great game and taken the
time to teach it to others soon develops a small Shadowfist following that eventually
works itself into a butt-kicking, fanatical frenzy. ;-)

No, but we're launching the Jose Garcia action figure line with the Jose with Championship belt and a shit-eating grin model (a=
cessories such as Gencon badge sold seperately and Frankenstien Fu Monster in 1/16 scale sold seperately).

Haven't seen it, but I'd like to. I'm kind of interested in mexican wrestling, having recently become an avid fan of Love and R=
ockets.

BTW Shay, I've checked out your Shadowfist page and its pretty cool. I reccomend that other people check it out, paticularly fo=
r the Shadowfist slang page which is something I'd like to see propogated.

That's the way word of mouth works. Unfortunately Shadowfist takes an
initial investment of time for it to hit, it doesn't have the benefit of a big
name license. Also its possible for Shadowfist to be an unenjoyable experience if
you're new to it and don't know what you are doing. For example two player games
can be frustrating to some beginners, there's a learning curve involved there in
how to build an effective and fun two player deck.

Fortunately the game has been well recieved and has a solid and growing base.
The next year is going to be pretty exciting.

It was such a trip to be at the booth when the plaque showed up, too.
Congrats on the much-deserved award; it's nice to see the RPGA isn't
all TSR junkies. ^_^

That was a nice moment. We recieved no advance notice either, it
came right out of the blue.

Actualy they have a half decent rep.

My congratulations also. As a dedicated Shadowfist lurker on this
group, I have to say that the game shows how a lovingly made product can
still make waves in a field that's constantly swamped by (mostly poor)
newcomers.

And _Feng Shui_ is nothing short of (Frigging Astounding!) It's
so good it makes it hard to tell which came first, CCG or RPG.

Cheers,

Thanks for the kind words.

The idea for the RPG came first, but both games were developed
at the same time (even though FENG SHUI was released 9 months
later than FIST.) I think the cross-pollination between the two
forms was a great creativity spur for both of them.

Take care >>> Robin

Thanks, we appreciate the pat on the back.

Actualy the rpg did exist in prototype form before the CCG was even
concieved of.

I've found the same to be true. I gave a bunch of Shadow fist cards
to three friends just so I'd have some opponents. Our group has
already grown to 7 people and others are very interested in joining.
We also played a few games at a local game store where they had never
even experimented with Shadowfist. Now the owner's wife is heavy into
the game and they're asking me about running demonstrations and
tournaments. The game is just plain fun, easy to learn and the BEST
multi-player CCG I've ever played.

An award well deserved, Daedalus!

Henry

Hey, who doesn't?

I'm not familiar with this but I am interested. If anyone can loan me a videotaped example I'd appreciate it.

No tapes I'm afraid, but I could try to track down the Lucha FAQ that
somebody posted to rec.sport.pro-wrestling a while back if you're
interested.

But if you do it, don't be half-assed about it! One character isn't
enough... we need a full-fledged pro wrestling expansion! Characters from
lucha, puroresu, American-style, the whole shebang!
