It's the day of the Vets Do. The one Paddy hasn't managed to organise yet.
Mandy has decided she isn't going, because she "won't fit in".
Lisa utters a piece of wisdom : "a posh frock does not make a netter
person, you know". Heavy moral Emmerdale :-)
Roy hassles Ned into visiting Jan in hospital. He has been avoiding going
as he can't handle it.
Zoe eventually finds out that Paddy has arranged the Vets Ball to be in THe
Woolpack. She goes all la-di-da. "Have you any idea what things are like ?
" etc etc.
Things aren't going smoothly on the organising front. Paddy bails out and
tells Zoe not to expect him at the do.
Chris tried to play it cool with Kelly, until.........."I know it's just a
one night stand"..."I don't want to get hurt, Chris"......"I think it's
best if I don't work for you any more". And Chris' answer is....."come
here" and big snog. (Moron - ed). Kelly is definitely playing it cool.
Back to the Vets fiasco. It's Mandy to the rescue (or should that be
Amanda.. more later). Paddy tells Mandy he's not going because Zoe turned
her nose up at the venue. Mandy rises (literally) to the challenge.
She has to overlook the fact that she isn't supposed to speak to Marlon to
persuade him to do some cooking ( well a lot of cooking in fact). He offers
Polard 20% for the use of the (Kathy's) kitchen. They settle on 30 % and
roll into action !!
As the evening commences some bigwig and his wife are introduced to Paddy.
He is about to introduce Mandy when she introduces herself as Amanda,
Amanda D'Ingle (as in di anglay). They seem impressed !! (More classic
Emmerdale - ed)
The posh bigwig, Mrs Palmer maybe, is impressed with *Amanda* and says she
could get her some work in the fashion industry. A future storyline ?
As an aside, Mrs Palmer or whoever she was looked awfully like Susie from
Coronation Street about 20 years ago. She was Gails friend and maybe called
Birchell. Anybody recognise, remember ?
Paddy is so grateful to *Amanda* for making the night a success, he asks
her to live with him. (A touch cynical - ed). OK, Paddy is so happy he asks
Mandy to live with him. And that's it.......'til next time.

P.S. I've just seen the credits and it was Parker and not Palmer and the
actress was Cheryl Murray, which makes me more convinced it was Susie
Birchell(?) from Corrie long ago.
P.P.S. For the Daves. Tara did appear once in tonight's show, albeit
briefly, or should I say briefless. Did you spot her ?

I just spent 6 hours frame stepping through the entire episode,
including the adverts and credits, I did it about 3 times just in case
they showed a blipvert type 1 frame in a millionth of a second type
thing. I didn't bloody well see it. :'-(

The vets wife was 'Susie Birchell' f rom long ago Corrie. (showing my
age now<g>) she used to share with Elsie and Gail.
Has anyone seen the old Emmerdale farm on sky soap?
Jackie Merricks father Sandie is played by the same actor who now
plays Tony Cairns. He had black hair then and a beard.
