Brief update 22/1/98

No promises, but I'll do the occasional update, unless someone else takes
over.
Jack wakes up to find Sarah asleep on the sofa. So the night of passion
wasn't that passionate. "I just couldn't go through with it" (Sarah).
It's the day of the famous Nigel Hibbert's TV show. Zak tries to make a
noise nuisance of himself outside Pollard's to gain financial compensation
for clearing off. Needless to say it doesn't work and he ends up giving one
of the sound men a fiver to shut up.
The rehearsals don't go too well. Marlon gets a panic attack in front of
the camera. Bye Marlon. Pollard gets tongue tied and says "Wollard's Pine
bar"...
bye Eric. Barry (rocket man) turns up with a pedal-powered microwave
(barking the lot of 'em) and gets the job !!
The great Nigel Hibbert turns out to be a complete Softie Walter. It is, in
fact, his Mummy who is the cook and he is just a front man. Doesn't have a
clue and Marlon is distraught !
Butch and Sam decide to nick a floodlight that is rigged up outside. Just
as Nige is introducing the *live* show (as if) Sam unplugs the light and
everything is plunged into darkness.
Back at Chez Dingle the light is connected (and I use the word loosely) to
the power supply by Sam. It isn't working as Zak and Lisa come out the
house. Butch is staring at it close up when Sam gives the connection a kick
and it comes on, blinding Butch (temporarily I suppose !!). It works for
about 10 seconds and then blows the power. Zak says as only he can, whilst
looking to the heavens "this has been the worst day of my life"
