I just went back to outlook express and I now have a message that says there
are no contacts to display. I probably have 200 contacts, where would they
go? I still have the address book that I assume is the same, how do I get
them back into contracts?

If there is an outlook express newsgroup, please advise, I could not find
one.

Thanks
Abe

You may want to try View > Layout and select Contacts...

Hi Abe,

I am glad that I am not alone with this problem. It was kind of hard
finding someone with this exact problem. Last time to correct it, I deleted
the Address Book and reimported another Address Book.

But that way, you lose your recent additions. I have Windows XP Home
Edition with an up-to-date McAfee VirusScan 6.0 Professional program. I have
VirusScan installed in Windows 98 SE and Windows ME also and no problems
with the E-Mail deletion, since McAfee fixed the problem.

I am only losing the Addresses in the Contacts Pane of Outlook Express
6.0. This is the third time it has happened to me. One time, I reinstall
Windows XP Home Edition. I am running on Fat32 File System.

What did you do to fix the problem or find the cause?

Hi All and Abe,

This problem is solved, but no one said anything about limits. There is
a limit not on how many E-Mail Addresses can be stored in the Microsoft
Address Book, but on how many entries can be viewed thru the Contacts Pane
of Outlook Express.

The figure is 1000 entries can be safely viewed thru Outlook Express's
Contact Panes. The Address Book can contain more than 1000 entries, but when
you add 1 entry to the Address Book, when 1000 entries are stored in the
Address Book, the Contacts viewed thru the Contacts pane, disappears. Delete
or remove one and all reappear, like nothing happened.

This holds true for Outlook Express 5.5 and 6, in Windows 98 SE, Windows
ME and Windows XP HE and possibly Professional also.
