I haven't been able to catch hold of the tiger's tail firmly
enough lately to find the words these shows describe.

Second Chances
Late night trances
The Subtle romances the night.

That is about as far as I got before bliss-ing out on the utter
clarity of these shows.

Crystal dreams
Passion Streams
How can I ever go back again?

Philly was simply astonishing. I saw the world unfold like an oyster
for my friend and he still doesn't know what to make of it. It
mad me so happy. The shows were so full of a promise that I ended
up clearing a phone line and calling my old buddy who took me to my
first show ever. We haven't talked in quite a while. The last
thing I said to him was when I see you in the show I will know
everything is all right. Well he was at the MCI show and I missed
him by "that much". I found that out it is just as important, and
almost as fulfilling, when you recognize a missed golden opportunity
because you still can see down all the paths of could-have, should-
have, would-have, and did. So in a way you can actually see more by
being one beat off the stepped path.

Speaking of MCI.I guess it is pretty obvious to everyone in
attendance that many hands make light work. I flashed on this image
that this Other Ones thing was a huge boulder that needed to be
pushed. That it was going to be slow going at first. That you need
to rock it back and forth a few times to get it going. That once you
lay a few more hands on it.it starts to move and roll. And pretty
soon it has enough stored energy to move almost on its own. Like
rolling a stone.

And Meadowlands. It was an introduction I won't soon forget,
thank you very much. Huge bombs being dropped made me think about
shows in the 60's and the mindset of the audiences then.
Food for thought.

At one point Jimmy is DSR and then rest of the stage does a slow
FTB. Jimmy just coruscates. Like a slide show in my mind images of
that night.

Morse code signals
Photon giggles
Won't you please step aside.

But Philly.oh sweet Philly.

I am almost afraid to talk about it, lest I take away some of its
charm. OMSN..what a way to start the evening. Hell in a
Bucket..there is no better Spectrum Rafter shaker to bring me
back to my budding days in that hall. But that Sunshine.now that was
commitment. That was all the proof anyone would ever need. And then
falling down the rabbit hole and at the last minute having Herring
throw a down a rope. I grabbed hold of his slippery lifeline and
rode it all the way to Danceville, USA. Still learning how to dance
with this band.I just hope I am getting better at it. Lord knows
they treated me better then I have treated them.

SUNDAY SUNDAY..

In typical fashion I was more than apprehensive about Sunday's
show.
Saturdays second set really put me to the test and I was worried how
they were going to take tonight's show. Well no holds barred pack
your bags full steam ahead. All I can say is that Queen Jane shot
arrows of emotion straight to my heart. I welled up. Then they broke
out the HOG! I finally realized that the reason Susan isn't
singing the Donna parts is obvious. She is here to praise the Gospel
of the Pig. Rave on sister. I will bear my witness and testify. The
band really really lowered the ceiling for the next tune. I was
literally knocked back and almost into my seat with that Caution. It
was like a flash of blinding white light that you see coming a split
second before it hits and you expect the impact is going to hurt but
it passed through you and on out the other side. It was that
palpable.
That physical.
I can't quickly recall seeing such a focused ball
of energy explode off a stage like that. Phil ended up at the end of
the tune reminding everybody there is only so much headroom to work
with and if you are going to focus on rearranging the molecules of
your bass guitar's headstock so they literally slip into your
speaker cabinet for that extra sustain you need to be aware of the
dimensions you are dealing with.

Jack Straw. Dug for him a shallow grave and laid his body down.

I don't know how it happened but somehow I found myself with three
open seats to lie down on and put my head in my baby's lap who was
sitting in the fourth. I just stared up at the ceiling as Hunter
sang away my cares away. Truely a breathtaking view of the world.

Then Second Set. Let's just say Bobby on Acoustic. Right on. I
love when I find myself able to hear Bobby and tonight I got my fix.
There is nothing like when deep in the middle of a jam he lifts his
head and flashes that Cheshire Grin.

This is such an exciting time to be involved. And that is what this
band is making it feel like. Making a point to let you know they
want you involved. You can take that as a fact because I have an
inside source. I know all about it because Mr. Charlie told me so.

This band is popping the hood and letting us listen to the engine
purr and hum. They are telling us to kick the tires and I swear.I
can't prove it, but I swear they let me take it for a test drive.

You know what..she handles like a dream.
