I have a recurring problem with Safari: the status bar often reports
errors when loading certain web sites. When I examine the activity
window, it's always the same error: "Posix error 54". This error seems
to have something to with failing to download graphics elements from
the server, because web pages that produce this problem do not look
right. A search on Apple's support site did not produce any results.

What is "Posix error 54", and how do I get rid it?

Thanks,

Francis

An error 54 is a connection reset error, which basically means that
Safari's connection to the web server was unexpectedly terminated. This
can happen if you're having some network issues or if the server you're
connecting to is having problems or under heavy load.

Hope this helps,
Eric

Thanks very much for this information. Now I know where to concentrate
my troubleshooting efforts.
